We spent three more hours in the restaurant. At a point Blue had eaten all he could and drank so much apple juice I was afraid he would vomit in his sleep. He was coddled to my chest, dead asleep. Ryan had been asking Hendrix for them to leave to some club but Hendrix did not seem interested at all. “Time to go,” Hendrix said and I forced myself to not sigh in relief. He kissed me until he fell asleep, and even in his sleep, he would stir, search for my lips, and kiss me again. I could not wipe my grin as I quietly moved around the kitchen. I could not help the dance now and again, despite my body being deprived of sleep. How could I have slept when staring at him was better? I had lain on him, my fingers running on his chest and face. My hands were shaking as I dialed the number. I could barely even dial, afraid I would drop the phone. My heart beat from my throat, having just got the news and I felt as if I was losing it a little. I clutched the phone like a granny, deciding to slowly dial since I kept making mistakes.
