Trista’s POV After a long afternoon of playing pretend, I went back to my guest house to cook the children dinner. I was riddled with anxiety, but I didn’t want to bring it into the house. I just wanted to have a nice, calm, relaxing dinner with Billy and Belle and try to forget about all the stress I had swelling up inside of me. Billy and Belle sat at the kitchen table, peeling garlic for me. It was a tedious task, and one I always chose for them since it kept them busy while I cooked. “Mama,” Billy said. “Belle got more cloves to peel than me.” I flashed him a smile and set down some more cloves of garlic. It was way more than I needed, but they loved peeling the frail skin off the cloves. I chopped carrots for the stew I was making and felt myself relaxing a bit. Cooking for my children was something I always enjoyed. And they’d been eating so many sweets, thanks to Felicity, so I was happy to make them a nice, nutritious dinn
