บททั้งหมดของ Deceived by the Delta: บทที่ 51 - บทที่ 60

Cassie POV - Goddess! I don’t know what to do. Dave has just left with Jack, excited and eager to meet his mate, and from what he tells us, she is indeed here, and if I understood correctly, which I'm pretty sure I did, well then, I know exactly who his mate is. One of my main tormentors…. Maddie. Thinking back, she did always act entitled, like she knew her and Ace were destined, she was so sure of herself and her position in this life. Like she knew some secret nobody else did. Was this the secret, the vision given to her father of her becoming Luna of a pack thanks to a Beta? But I can't believe she didn't know exactly what she was doing every single time she tormented me. I mean, this chick gave me freaking nightmares, she starved me, beat me, encouraged others to do the same, she body shamed me, by the time escaped Twin Lakes pack, she as much the demon I was running from as Ace was. But now what do I do? I can't very well let Dave run off into the sunset with her without knowi

Dave POV - She is beautiful, incredible. I have never seen anyone who holds themselves with such perfect confidence. Jack and the guard fade away to nothingness as she moves towards me, the dank cell seemingly glowing as she looks into my eyes.I vaguely hear Jack talking to the guard but the words are nonsense, then he claps me on the shoulder and I glance behind me, tearing my eyes away from the vision of my mate, to see him leaving and the guard stepping forward holding out a key to me. I take the key and he leaves behind Jack. The prison falls silent as I turn to face her once more, desperate to hold her and feel the sparks I have heard about, I fumble with the key before finally getting it to fit into the lock. The click of the tumblers echo down the hall as the door swings inwards, and I follow, stepping into the space occupied by my mate. Breathing deeply I inhale her scent and watch her do the same, her eyes close slightly before she closes the gap and takes my hands in hers.

Author POV - With all of the excitement of Dave finding his mate, he and Jack did not get a chance to discuss the prisoners. But Jack was well aware of the fact that Ace was sitting in a cell within Twin Lakes pack. With what he knew now of Maddie and her role in the torture of his mate, he was more eager than ever to get the situation handled and finalised before the birth of his pups. He just wasn’t sure how to go about it. He knew Dave was going to be distracted as he spent time with Maddie, which he was also worried about. He needed to talk to Dave and tell him what he had learned from Cassie before the bond was too strong, he didn’t want Dave to have to reject his mate, but he also wanted him to have that option, and the longer they had to form the bond, the harder the rejection would be. Dave would survive a rejection, he wasn’t weak like Cassie had been when she had rejected Ace, but that didn’t save him from a pain that Jack just didn’t want anyone he knew to suffer. After sp

Jack POV - “Yeah, I meant to talk to you about that earlier today but with everything that happened…” Dave looks sheepish for a moment, then blissful as his thoughts return to his mate.Waving my hand at him to dismiss his discomfort I push forward.“So, what’s happening? What you got going on here?” I ask.“Well, it was Daisy’s idea, but I do admit, I love it, we are building a new pack house, but we are relocating to nearer the lake, nicer views, further from the main access point, sheltered by the mountains in the winter…”“Brilliant,| I say honestly, if I wasn’t happy with our pack house I would do the same, being close to each other can only strengthen our packs bonds. “Do you need anything? Materials, hands?”“Well actually, I was thinking, could you send the rest of the rogues over? They are all victims and I think having them all together will be good for them. The routines here are still new so the adjustment will be for everyone not just the ‘newbies’ and the extra hands wi

Dave POV -As soon as I received Daisy’s text about her being close I sent a reply telling her to come straight to the office. It had been tough the last couple of days, trying to manage my time between my Alpha duties and spending time with Maddie. Maddie had been hesitant to leave my room once we had her situated, I think she is worried about how the pack will react to her being their Luna. So we kept to ourselves and Maddie hid in what are now our rooms while I managed the pack. After all she had told me about how she had behaved when she was here before, I knew that the pack and even the rogues would struggle to accept her, so I am hoping that by getting Daisy on our side she can help with the transition. Maddie and I know it will take time for the pack to accept her. I think that is why she wants to wait for us to complete our bond. She wants to prove herself to them. But she is also terrified of their reaction, hence the hiding out. Now that Daisy is home we can begin to build th
