Ruby's POV. The house was finally quiet. Ethan and I had just put Emma and the baby boy to bed, their soft, even breaths the only sounds filling the room. We walked downstairs, and I felt a fleeting sense of peace wash over me, if only for a moment. "Thanks for helping out today, Ethan," I said, offering a tired but genuine smile as we settled onto the worn blue couch. "It's no problem, Ruby."
