Sara POVThe only thing I could do was stand there, frozen, staring as Jethro walked away. The dam that had held my tears in finally broke free, streaming down my face like a river; I just felt so submerged in a sea of emotions, that I couldn't seem to catch my breath."Hey, are you okay?" Henry's voice cut through my sobs, laced with so much concern. But I couldn't answer him, couldn't even utter a word. The only thing I could do was cry. The pain and hurt once again rose like it all was happening all over again.Henry wrapped his arms tightly around me, holding me as I fell apart. "Shh, it's okay," he whispered. "I'm here for you."But it wasn't okay, nothing was okay. Jethro had lied to me, used me, then taken all that trust and crushed it into a million tiny little pieces. And then he thought he could just waltz on back in and I would forgive him?I pushed away from Henry, my eyes afire with anger. "I hate him," I spat, my voice shaking.Henry's face softened then, his eyes unders

Sara's Pov I tried shaking the feeling off, but it lingered on, hauntingly echoing within my skull. I knew I needed to focus on my healing, but a part of me still clung to the hope that somehow Jethro would change, that somehow, he would be strong enough to overcome the darkness inside him.Henry must have realized my distress and laid a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Sara, you're strong enough to pull through this. You don't need Jethro to define your worth."I nodded, trying to believe him. But that voice in my head whispered again, "Don't give up on me."I shivered. Was I fantasizing, or was Jethro trying to get in contact with me?I turned to Henry, my mind made up to clear my head. "What can I do to protect myself from Jethro's influence?"Henry's face was now serious. "I can teach you some protective spells, but you need to be careful. Jethro is powerful, and he won't let go very easily."I steeled myself for all that was going to happen. "I'm ready, Henry. Teach me what I ne

Sara's Pov I felt a shiver run down my spine as I registered Emma's words. Could it be true? Was Henry mistaking me for his ex?"But that's not all," Emma added, her voice barely above a whisper. "Henry and Anne's breakup was. Messy. He was obsessed with her, and when she left him, he was devastated. I'm scared he's transferring those feelings to you, Sara."The inside of my head spun as I attempted to wrap my brain around this new information. Was I simply a replacement for Henry's lost love? Sadness pierced through me with the mere thought.I was sad and confused. "So, you're saying Henry might be using me as a replacement for Anne?" I asked for clarification.Emma shrugged sheepishly. "I don't know for certain, Sara. But I do know Henry was very passionate about Anne. And now he's spending this much time with you. It's like he's living in the past somehow."I shook my head, trying to wrap my mind around this. "But Henry has been so kind and sincere with me. I don't think he is usi

Sara's P.O.V Henry didn't take his eyes off Emma but pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "I'll call Nanany Elara to come over and keep an eye on the house while we're gone," he told her as he waited for the call to connect.Emma nodded, still dazed from finally having at least one hope of getting some answers about the accident."Nanany Elara?" Henry called brightly, with warmth in his voice. "Hé, we will go out now and see Elias, but we'll be back later. Please come across and keep an eye for us."He held his breath in the silence as he listened for her reply. "Oui, everything is fine. We just have to attend to something. Merci, Nanny. Merci."Henry slammed the phone down and turned to us. "Nanany Elara will be here shortly. Shall we be off?"I rose, my stomach roiling in a mix of excitement and trepidation. What would Elias have to say about that night? And how was this going to change everything?Emma squared her shoulders and exhaled a deep, decisive breath. "Let's do this

Sara's POV The minute the doctor was gone, Emma turned to us with a frantic expression on her face. "Ryker. He's growing wings by the day," she whispered, her eyes wide with terror.I arched an eyebrow, confused. "What do you mean?"Emma's voice quivered. "I mean, he's getting huge, stronger, so much more powerful. He's reaching out, and I don't know how to stop him."Henry's face turned serious. "You mean, he's getting full control over them, manipulating them?"Emma nodded. "Yes, exactly. And I think he is behind everything that has been going on with the mystery patient, the man in black. It's part of his game. The frown on Elias's face deepened. "We need to find what he's planning for in the end and put a stop to that before that happens."I nodded in full agreement, knowing full well we did have to get to the bottom of what Ryker was planning and put an end to whatever his evil scheme was.I couldn't shake this feeling that something was off. "What if his target was Elias?" I as
