The three riders guided their dragons into a smooth descent, the massive wings stirring the morning mist into dancing swirls above the palace gardens.With a final beat of powerful wings, Aragon, Onyx, and Sapphire touched down gracefully just beyond the palace gates.Elena dismounted lightly, giving Sapphire’s scaled snout an affectionate pat. As soon as her feet touched the marble path, a soft ripple of magic danced over Sapphire’s body. The massive white dragon’s body started shrinking, scales giving way to pale skin, wings dissolving into a cascade of her silver hair until a young girl stood beside Elena. Sapphire adjusted the silver clasp on her cloak and fell into step behind her master without a word, her eyes scanning the surroundings.
