Samantha sighed, completely looking away from the laptop on her table and turning her attention to Kathie.“He’s actually a very cool person to hang out with. He wants more but I made him know that that’s not going to be possible.”“He said he was going to win me over. We shall see about it.”“It was fine even though someone tried to ruin it. But it ended on a really tense note.”“Can I go back to work now?”“Someone tried to ruin it? Who?” She frowned.“Ethan!”Katie’s eyes went wide. “Ethan?! As in the same Ethan? Ethan Blake? How the hell did he find you?”Samantha slowly massaged her temple, remembering that she hadn’t said a word about it to Kathie.“I don’t know. He probably came here for business. We first bumped into each other at the cafe when I went to meet the client. He made a scene and he saw me with Kelvin at night.”“At some point, I thought he was stalking me but I later discovered that the restaurant had a hotel beside it so he probably lodged there.”“Holy sh it, Sam

At this point, Kelvin was beyond upset. He left where he was and approached Bessie. He grabbed her by her arm, “What the hell is wrong with you? I don’t like you, I don’t want anything to do with you, why the hell can’t you understand that?”“And how dare you speak rudely to Samantha? Have you forgotten your position in this company?”“And what will she do to me? Have me fired because I caught her almost f*****g my man?”“If you say that again, I promise you that I’m not going to regret what I’m going to do to You!”, Kelvin said, giving her a very nasty glare. He was brought up not to lay a finger on women, Heaven knows what he would have done already if she was a male. The door flung open and Katherine came in, looking all breathless and worried. “I tried to stop her but she was way ahead of me. I’m so sorry.” She said, exchanging a glare with Bessie.“Never mind, She’s leaving already!” Kelvin spoke.“You’ve got a very shady attitude. You put out a nice facade so people would worship

Philip said after which he went back inside the conference room. He met Ethan discussing with his lawyer.“I’m really sorry about what just happened.“It’s fine.” He shrugged it off like it was no big deal!”,“Really?” Philip said, surprised, truly not finding any trace of anger on his face.“It’s fine, Mr Philip.”He tucked his hands in his pocket, “Thank you for understanding.”“I’m sure all documentation will be done in due time and you will be notified of the next meeting so you can be properly introduced to the board and other members of the company.”“No problem. Thank you for seeing me on such short notice.”The duo exchanged a handshake with Ethan smirking at Kelvin who stood by the door. The moment Samantha stormed out of the conference room, she went straight to her office, ignoring the greetings of the few staff she met on the way.Once she got into her office, she went over to her desk, dropped the tab, and picked up her phone. With shaky hands and glossy eyes after she pi

Samantha was speaking at a go but stopped midway, reaching for some tissue on her desk to wipe the corner of her eyes.Things were silent between the duo for a while. The look she saw on Ethan’s face was really disturbing. Samantha saw that he looked pained and really confused.“But still, you moved on.” He said, bringing her out of her thoughts.“What do you mean? You expect me to keep moping around? Agreed that your marriage was forced, did you not move on with your life too?”“Your mom almost ended my life then. It is a miracle I am still alive and you are here blaming me for f****g moving on?”“Even if your mother had not chased me away, I do not think we were ever going to work. It was going to be a disaster in the end. You were getting married and I would not want to be the other woman.”“It was just going to be for a while until I found a solution. I am sorry about everything but I am deeply hurt too and disappointed. Even the d****n people I call my family are the major people

Ethan rolled his eyes, not believing his elder sister was starting to make this be about herself again.“It is fine! I’ve got this. I will talk to you later.”“Okay, bye!”He waved, then ended the video call. The engine of the car was already on so he drove out of the parking area to the direction of his lodge. The moment Ethan was out of sight, Samantha rose to her feet, reached for some tissue from the tissue box on her table, then made her way towards the window, wiping tears off her eyes and at the same time trying to avoid her mind lingering on the conversation that she just had with Ethan.Samantha was brought out of her thoughts when a knock came through on the door. She turned around, hoping it was not Ethan. But again, she thought that if he was the one, he would probably have barged in and not knocked.“Come in,” She answered with a cracked voice. The door opened and her bundle of joy ran in.“Mommy!” The little girl ran towards her where she stood and hugged her legs tightl
