I was lying in the dark, trying to think of a way out. Lisa had me tightly bound to a pair of shackles which I had been working so hard to get myself free from it and waiting for the right moment to strike.I needed to get to my sons in order to protect them from the lady who had ruined our lives. My senses were alert to the smallest of sounds around me as I pretended to be asleep. I could hear the sounds of the crickets chirping outside as everywhere was deathly still. The quiet hum of Lisa's singing, and the creak of the ancient wooden floorboards. I waited for the perfect moment to strike. It came when Lisa's attention slipped, her gaze turning to the door as footsteps approached.I channeled all of my will and strength into a tremendous blast that broke me loose and I was propelled by the force in the direction of the door. My legs were weak from days in captivity, I staggered, but I wouldn't give up. I lunged into the hallway, heart thumping in my chest as I pushed ahead. I

I was in my cozy California apartment, listening to my children laughing in the distance, while I looked out the window at the sunkissed Pacific Ocean. A feeling of utmost tranquility setting in as I have finally gotten away from the disorder of New York and the poisonous hold of Jaxon and Alex .However, my peace was disrupted when my phone suddenly started ringing.“Ayla , please I need you to return to New York”. Jaxon spoke urgently, his words pouring out quickly with a touch of desperation in his voice. My heart began to beat in rapid succession. “I'm sorry, Jaxon . I have had it with all the troubles that came with New York”. “Ayla, please listen to what I'm saying”. “I need you to be here as I can't accomplish this task without your help”. His words carried a slight touch of anxiety, a familiar tone that I recognized.I braced myself, my determination unwavering. “I will not return, Jaxon. I refuse to have anything further to do with Alex . I deserve better. I have the

I approached the platform, surveying the room packed full with people. The sense of excitement and fulfillment I felt as press members from around the globe eagerly awaited my statement.I started by saying, "Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen," my voice unmistakable and sure. "Thank you for being here today." As all of you know, recent occurrences have resulted in a shift in leadership at Alex Corporation." I am currently in charge, and I want to confirm that our dedication to innovation and excellence remains unchanged."The room buzzed with the sound of cameras snapping and people whispering, but I remained focused on the crowd ahead of me without pausing."Today, I am here to announce the start of a fresh era in our company's history.” I entered the room and was met with a barrage of questions and exclamations, but I silenced the chaos by raising my hands. We believe that this choice will not only improve our market standing but also present opportunities for growth and expansi

I walked confidently down the light faded tunnel, keeping my gaze on the person standing by the wall; Scorpion. Although we had met before, this time I needed to give a warning message."You must be very stupid huh?" I commented.Raising an eyebrow, he kept his gaze on me. "I may be many things but the last thing I would want anyone calling me, especially coming from someone like you, is calling me stupid. I don't take such words lightly”.“I believe you know the name Jaxon?, I want you to stay away from him."I watched Scorpion let out a snort. "Why would I want to do that?” He queried "It is obvious you don't want to learn. I have always warned people like you staying in other people's business. Jaxon is not worth the effort." Scorpion lifted his chin, a touch of amusement twinkling in his eyes. "Oh, but is he deserving of your time and effort? Tell me something more amusing, please” He said laughing I breathed deeply, controlling my anger. "Jaxon and I have a history togethe

The room fell silent, only the sound of my heart racing in the air. I woke up to see Alex's bare torso in my field of vision. His sculpted torso and defined abs were on full display, didn't he know how to be properly dressed around a lady?Alex moved closer, his eyes locked on mine, a mixture of malice and lust burning in them."Stop”,I said.Alex's gaze didn't waver as he closed the distance between us, his breath trailing behind her ear. "Now we will push the limits of our agreement." His words sent a chill down my spine, a mixture of fear and excitement. "What? This is a breach of contract! I didn't sign up for this"Part of me wanted to resist, get away and escape this growing situation. But another part of me didn't want to. As he approached, his lips almost touching mine, I gave him a powerful push, the force of the push almost making him lose balance."I'm not surprised.”It's obvious you still have feelings for Jaxon”,he spat"Of course you shouldn't,
