Page sighed, “Just drop them upstairs,” she said, instructing the driver to move her and Rowan’s things into the new house. She glanced over to Rowan who was being unhelpful as he leaned on the edge of the car calling someone. She sighed. This morning was their wedding, She had just married this guy, yet he seemed so absent already. then again, she knew nothing about him. This entire marriage was set up by his grandfather who provided This house as well.Rowan finally ended his call., looking distinctly unhappy, “I can do this myself.” He said to the driver as he took one of his bags and dragged it inside.Page followed Roran inside, annoyed. "Fine, this is a marriage of convenience, and I know your grandfather forced you, but why do you have to act like this?."Rowan stopped in his tracks, his jaw tightening. "I'm already annoyed enough as it is. I don’t know why my Grandfather feels like he has to control every inch of my life.If not for his threat to remove me from the company…

“Where have you been? I was worried sick,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady.“I had some business to take care of,” he explained, avoiding her eyes as he spoke.Page took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. “I tried calling you. Your phone was on Do Not Disturb.”Rowan sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I needed some time alone, Page.”Page went on, completely ignoring him again. “You should have called me to say you would be late.”“And why should I?” he asked so coldly.“Of course, you should,” she said, her voice softening. “Why even ask that?”He looked at her then, really looked at her, and for a moment, she saw something in his eyes—but it wasn’t there the next second, only annoyance. “Did I not make it clear enough yesterday? You and I have nothing to do with each other. So just stay out of my way.”Page stared at him, hurt written all over her face. Rowan stretched his neck and adjusted his tie, his head tilted just enough for him to spot the covered plate

On getting to the door of her room, Page slowed down and took in deep, haggard breaths before walking in. She sighed quietly then, began advancing towards her vanity. Setting down on it her phone and amethyst coloured purse which was gifted to her by her grandad a year ago on her birthday, she proceeded to slip off her cloths, piece after piece and willed her mind to waltz through her not so long encounter with Rowan.Withdrawing from her thoughts and shaking her head rather too fast, she shivered and goosebumps could be seen surfacing on her skin, making her wear an irked expression.“What was that?" She scoffed, asking no one in particular.“Why is he suddenly behaving as though he cares after making it abundantly clear that he wants nothing to do with me?" She continued as she folded her right hand, putting her left one over it and placing her chin in between her index and middle finger. The kissing of her teeth with her tongue sounded lightly across the room and one could tell tha

Chapter 9; His ex's escapade“Page dearest, what is this I hear about? Did you sustain an ankle injury?" Her sensitive natured granddad asked, concerned."It's nothing, truly. I am absolutely fine,” she assured in gentle tone.“Nonsense! How can a sprained ankle be nothing? Your husband told me you could barely walk without his assistance,” he objurgated in an offended manner.*Not to talk of the cut you sustained on your finger,” he sighed heavily. “You do not have to yell at me do you old man?” she teased and let out a light chuckle."Oh this is not a laughing matter young lady. Nothing about any of this is funny,” he breathed.“I know, I know, I should have been more conscientious. I am sorry I got you worried,” she pouted.“Overly worried dear. Wear comfortable shoes for the time being. No stilettos okay?” He ordered sternly."I swear I won't go against you this time,“ she promised and her giggles transformed to feats of laughter. “You had better not," he laughed."Take some day

“I do not know how to put it," he said with his hand in his pocket.“Say what you want to tell me however it pleases you," she told him.He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out then, he sighed with a smile. “Would you rather you talk about it later because I would like to be on my way home," "Ok then, I would call you tonight,” he said and stepped away from her car so she could drive away when she got in and closed the door. "Alright."Will felt pathetic because he couldn't express himself. He watched as her sleek white car pulled into the road and zoomed off in an instant, leaving him in that spot.“What was so hard?" He asked himself as though he expected a clone of himself to provide a satisfactory answer. He ran his hand through his hair and when he did it the third time, his hand vigorously moved in an indefinite manner around his hair until he stamped his feet on the ground, looked around and began moving towards Greenstone theater main gate. Page got home
