Cassandra’s POV I knocked on Dillon’s door. He answered and smiled brightly when he saw me. “How did it go?” he asked, motioning for me to come inside. “What did the old man leave you in his will?” I took a deep breath. “Well, I’m afraid I have some bad news,” I told him. Dillon stopped and turned around to face me. “Is that so?” he asked, furrowing his brows. “We didn’t have the reading,” I explained. “It seems that Jordyn’s gone missing. I just met with his father, Howard. No one’s heard from him since the funeral. I’m worried, Dillon.” I figured it was best just to cut right to the chase. Because it was the truth. On the drive over, I couldn’t shake this unsettled feeling I had that something just wasn’t right. I also couldn’t deny the fact that, even though Jordyn and I were no longer together, I still cared about him. He was a person, after all. And if he needed help, and I could help him, then I had to.
