Theo’s povI returned from the two-day trip with a single thought in my head. Destiny. The rogue attack discussions had been long and boring, a necessary evil that I had endured with a strange sort of restlessness. All I had wanted was to be with her. I could not stop thinking about her. The last two days had been torture. I had tried to push her out of my mind, to bury myself in the details of the attack plans, but it was all for nothing. All I could see was her face, her eyes filled with tears, her voice a desperate, pleading whisper. Her soft, warm body against mine. Her lips on mine. The image of her lying naked in my bed, her stomach a soft, subtle curve that held our child, was a constant presence in my mind. I had been cold to her. I had been cruel. The fear of her being a witch, the very thing that had taken my mother from me, had clouded my judgment. It had made me a coward. I had wasted time feeling sorry for myself. And I wasn’t ready to forgive myself for tha

Destiny’s povIt's been just six months, but boy, did it feel like a lifetime.I should be happy and living freely. I should wake up with all smiles and look forward to the day. But it was the complete opposite.Six months of silent days and lonely nights.Six months of hiding, of pretending to be someone I wasn't.Six months of running.Yes, I had succeeded in gaining my freedom, but in exchange, I had become a ghost in the world of werewolves and a normal person in the world of humans. The humans saw me as just a pregnant lady who had moved into town, a shy, quiet girl who kept to herself. I had managed to get a part-time job as a waitress at a small, family-owned restaurant, and so far, no one suspected that I was anything but human. The protection balm that Rebecca had given me was my only shield, a constant, soothing presence on my skin. I applied it every single day, twice a day, and I would like to think it was because of that I hadn't come across any werewolves, and for that,

Theo’s pov The agony I felt was a familiar thing. It felt like a monstrous beast with a thousand teeth tearing through my body. It started in my blood, almost like a searing, excruciating fire that consumed every inch of my being. It was a crippling, mind-numbing pain that made me want to scream, to howl, to tear my own flesh. Before I knew it, I was on the floor, my body writhing in anguish, and I wanted nothing more than for it to stop. Just for a moment. Just for a single, precious moment. But it wouldn't. The curse didn’t care how bad it hurt. The curse didn’t care. The agony was a constant, relentless torment, a dark shadow that had been my constant companion for years. A constant, tormenting companion that had become a part of me. A part of my soul. I was on the floor, a broken, empty shell of a werewolf, my wolf whimpering in pain along with me, and the only thing I could see was her. Destiny. She was on the floor, her knees on the cold hard ground of the cave, our child i

Destiny’s povThe moon festival that happened yearly was a beautiful thing. It was vibrant with laughter and joy under the soft glow of the moon. The Venus pack gathered in the main field, filled with happy faces and chattering voices that expressed the joy they felt. The air smelled of roasting meat, sweet cakes, and the earthy scent of the forest floor. It was a perfect night, the kind of night I used to dream of, and it was all real.Theo and I were sitting together on a log, a little away from the crowd, just watching the festivities.Days had passed, and sometimes I couldn't believe just how happy I’d become these past few days. Theo had made me feel like I was on top of the world. He made me feel wanted with every second that passed and never dropped telling me just how much he loved me.That alone was enough to make every freaking wall around my heart come down. I was falling for him too. But I was terrified all this wasn't going to last.Liam was asleep in my arms, a small, pe

Destiny’s povA year laterPeaceful.Beautiful.It was exactly how life was this past year.We settled into a gentle rhythm, a precious quiet, and contentment that was very far away from the world of chaos that happened the previous year. The pack that was once a place of suspicion and distrust for me was now a place of family. It was as if everyone here had adopted me.They had accepted me, not just as their Alpha's mate but as their Luna, their co-leader. And I had accepted them, a complex group of shifters, both male and female, who were finally, truly, my home.I had stepped into my role as Luna without a single misstep. My heart, which was a wild, frantic thing just a year ago, was now filled with a quiet, confident strength. I had learned to lead with compassion, to listen with patience, and to make decisions with a boldness that surprised even me.The darkness that I had tried to control, the darkness that had been terrifying, was now fully a part of me. I was still learning to
