"Look, babe, I'm sorry. I really am. I feel terrible for worrying you like that, but I really can't forgot my obligations.""I know, darling," Samantha juts out her bottom lip. "But please, try to be more careful," She steps closer to him, standing right beside the chair Moni had been occupying. "What will happen when we have our kid, hmm?""Here it is!"Samantha turns to find Moni entering the office, Tupperware in hands. She runs up to the desk and deposits it in front of Alexander, shaking her hands afterwards."Ah, it was really hot," she laughs, "I almost burnt my hands."Pity you didn't, Samantha thinks, but prefers to thank Moni for heating the food."No problem," the other waves it away.Alexander opens the lid and finds the food Samantha had packed, thrown haphazardly inside."Hm, what happened?" he asks.Samantha blushes. "It fell in the car earlier, when I was coming here, sorry," she winces. Truth, is she had thrown the food inside without a care."Is there anything to eat

Samantha remembers reading a book once. It was about a married couple who loved each other really, really hard. The woman, however, suffered an accident and lost her eyesight. The doctors warned them the only way to gain back her vision would be if someone donated her their cornea. However, there were several other patients in the waiting list for the donation and it was possible that the spouse wouldn't ever get her chance.Iran, her husband gains access to the list and one by one, starts killing off the patients waiting for the donation until only his wife is left.Samantha found the book disturbing and creepy and if it weren't because Emily, her best friend, gave it to him and recommended she read it, Samantha would have left it aside. At the time, she used to wonder why Emily thought her reading it would be a good idea, but now... now Samantha thinks she understands. The guy loved his wife too much. Almost as much as Samantha loves Alexander, and for love-For loved one could do an

Samantha breathes out in relief when she sits behind the steering wheel, closing the door. She blinks, taking everything in and letting out a snort. She can't believe it. Moni is so dumb.It takes a couple more minutes before Moni is walking down the steps to her building, in black track shorts and a shirt. Her dog tots beside her, tail wagging happily as she sniffs at everything, tugging against the bright red leash Moni has attached to his neck.Moni greets her neighbors as she walks, taking to the streets.Samantha turns the car on. She drives slowly but tries not to make it obvious she's following Moni. Other cars don't seem to drive any faster as it is a residential area, so it's all good.Moni keeps a stash of plastic bags to collect her dog excrements from the sidewalk. What a lovely sight.Ahead of them, a guy shows up, bracketed by two friends. They all look like supermodels and one of them spots Moni, lifting a hand to greet her. Samantha is inside the car, all the windows up

"Please, don't pee on my seat," Samantha tells him, watching as dog sniffs her passenger sniff and walks in a tiny circle. The dog pauses, looking up at Samantha and barking again."Shh, you have to be quiet, remember?" Samantha puts a finger in front of his mouth. "Here, your toy," she squeezes the tiny ball she'd taken from Moni's apartment. The dog happily grabs it between its teeth, settling on the seat and chewing on it."You know, you're not a bad dog. I thought you were going to be way more difficult," Samantha tells him. The dog doesn't pay attention to her. "You're a bit egotistical though, I've noticed. Moni must baby you a lot, look at you, so spoiled."Samantha sighs. "Alexander loves dogs. Don't get me wrong, I love them too. But having one now, I don't know. I always felt like Alexander would give it more attention than he does me. Pathetic, isn't it?" Samantha chuckles. She lets the dog have his fun and looks around. The clock is closing in on Samantha's favorite time of

Alexander hangs up. He closes his eyes, taking in some calming breaths. What the hell is Samantha up to? Where was she?Alexander calls their residential number and isn't surprised when he doesn't get an answer. Fuck this.He gets up from his chair, taking his jacket in one hand and pocketing his cell phone. No one pays him any mind when he exits his room or even when he takes the elevator down to the garage floor.Alexander thinks about calling Samantha, but he has a feeling his lover has been lying to him all along. She's hiding something, Alexander knows. Something she knows Alexander won't like.Nervous, Alexander enters his car and heads to a place he thought he would never have to visit again.Chenny, the receptionist, lifts her arched eyebrows when Alexander enters the waiting room. The interior is familiar to him, unfortunately, the smell of nail polish that Chenny insists on applying all the time, the old carpet covering every inch of the floor and especially the deep green, o
