Dane's POV. Watching Astrid rush into the bathroom after thanking me was a feeling I wished to carry everywhere I went. A smile curled up on my lips, and I had forgotten about the rage that coursed through my veins concerning Edmond.Without hesitation, I turned to the door. Recalling that Beta Ivar had misbehaved, I didn't hesitate to walk towards the door. Opening it, I found Beta Ivar standing by the door with his head bowed to me instantly.“What the hell did you do that for?” I snapped again, trying my best to keep my voice low so that Astrid wouldn't hear me speak.“I'm sorry, Alpha Dane!” He apologised, not wanting to carry the issue further. There was every possibility that Ivar could argue with me, but he chose not to, and that was the best decision he had ever made.“Sorry for yourself, Ivar!” I uttered through gritted teeth as I stared at him. “Next time you try pulling such a stunt, I won't hesitate to make you pay dearly! Is that clear?” I warned, my eyes fixed right on

Dane's POV:“I asked, who sent you?” My voice was deep and authoritative as I glared at them kneeling on the ground, their heads bowed.Seeing how furious I was, they lifted their heads and turned to me, a sneer curling up on their lips immediately. It was scary and, above all, felt intensely weird.“Alpha Halfdan sent us!” they finally declared. My brows furrowed immediately at the sound of what they had just said to me.“What? That wasn't what you told me! Who sent you? Say the truth right now!” I commanded, but it was fruitless. It was as though they had taken orders from someone and weren't going to speak up no matter what.Slowly, I turned to look at the crowd that had kept mumbling. They were as shocked as I was too. Just then, my eyes met with that of Edmond, and the sneer that was on his lips drove home one fact: he had a hand in this.He had done something to them, but how? When? Last time I checked, the cell was heavily guarded, so how the hell did Edmond get past the guards

ASTRID'S POV:Watching them from afar and how Edmond had kept turning to look at me, there was definitely no doubt that they had brought me into their conversation.I was only trying to run towards Alpha Dane and see if I could calm him down after what had happened, but at this point, I was pretty sure that he just didn't want to meet with Edmond.I tried focusing on their discussion to see if I could hear anything, but who was I kidding? Edmond was secretive, and I wasn't going to hear a single word no matter how hard I tried.Just then, Alpha Dane excused himself and left Edmond all alone. I was going to turn around and head into the mansion, but unfortunately, I was stopped by Edmond who suddenly got a strong grip on my hand, halting me in my tracks.“Long time no see, Luna Astrid!” he sneered as he glared right into my eyes. I could see it all—the malice, the evil intent, the sinister plots. He was definitely behind it all, and there was no doubt about it.“Let go!” I pulled my ha

Astrid's POV."Come on, Mom… What is wrong? Why do you sound like you've been crying all night?" I asked, my heart racing with uncertainty and tension at this moment. I just wanted to know what the true issue was. I needed to know how I could comfort her.All this while, she had been quiet and had refused to call me. She had acted like I didn't exist, and maybe it was because of my father, but seeing her acting this way right now made me so suspicious and, above all, uncomfortable."Astrid, I'm really sorry. I should have told you all this while! I should have!" She mumbled bitterly, the guilt and pain in her tone pretty evident at this moment."You keep speaking in parables, Mom. What is wrong? Can you just open up already?" I urged, anticipation overwhelming me at this moment."It's your father, Astrid…" she started, but her soft sobs choked her words immediately."And what about my father? What about Dad?" I asked, pressing the phone against my ear tightly just so I could hear ever

Astrid's POV:“The pack belongs to me now and no one else! You were banished, remember? Or did you lose your memory when you got abducted by the rogues, right?” Camilla snarked, a sneer curling up on her lips.At this moment, all I could see in her eyes were anger, pain, and regret. She just wanted what I had; she wanted what I earned in the easiest way possible. She had taken Halfdan from me because of her greed, and now here she was trying to act all defensive? She never liked my father for a single day. She pretended to be his best relative, and that was all.“I'm not here for the pack, Camilla. I'm here for my father's remains. Unlike you, I have a heart!” I spat, my glare fixed on her. I was certain that she was angry, that she was mad I had exposed her plans.“How dare you say such a…” she began, lifting her hand to hit me on the face as usual, but right then, Alpha Dane intervened. He held her hand tightly.“You dare not lay a finger on my mate, not when I am here, Camilla!” he
