Lahat ng Kabanata ng Mr. CEO I can't Be Hidden Anymore : Kabanata 21 - Kabanata 30

Amaka's POV "Is everything alright?" Simon asks me as I gasp loudly just as we step out of his office. "Yes. No. I mean, yes. I am fine," I tell him. I internally scold myself that I should not have given Ethan my username. I pray he does not reveal the truth to Joseph before I get the chance to do so myself. "That's fine. You scare me like you forget something. Are you sure you do not forget anything in the office?" Simon asks as we walk up to the elevator. "No, I do not." I offer him a bright smile and walk with him to the elevator. Anita steps out of her office, which is adjacent to the boss's office, and looks at us. "When did you two get along just after two days in the office? You should be careful, Amaka. Simon only wants to eat your cookies," Anita says. Simon glares at her. "Don't mind Anita. Let's go." Simon gets into the elevator with me as the door shuts and leads us to the bottom floor. I smile and follow Simon to his car, but he still broods over Anita's remarks.

Joseph's POV I enter my sitting room and make my way to the bar there to have a drink. "Damn it!" I growl as anger courses through me. "How long do I keep on pretending like I do not know Amaka? Is that how women keep on growing beautiful even when you do not want to be concerned about her?" I mutter. I am irritated with the way I see Amaka getting along with Simon, and I know that Nina will soon find out. Now that Nina has asked me about Amaka, I am sure that Nina is not satisfied with my response. For goodness' sake, I have many female staff. So how come my attention is on only one pretty blonde woman? I sigh and drink from the whiskey bottle in my glass as anger fills me. I think about how I will see Amaka, and the thought comes to me. "Give Nina the role as your fiancée manager, so that she wouldn't be around my office." Anita's office is just right across from mine, although in an open enclosed space with glass walls. So definitely, if I give Nina the role as my secretary,

Nina's POV After I finish dressing in my bedroom, I wear a white nightdress and black slippers. I walk out of the guest room assigned to me, then make my way to the dining room to see if Tope has set up our dinner. I let my blonde hair cascade down my back to dry, then see that Tope has finished setting up our dinners. I smile at her and walk up to the dining table to meet her. After I converse with Tope and learn she has a child out of wedlock, I respect her more, knowing it is not easy being a single mother. Yet she cares for others and puts her work above herself. The way Tope works happily for Joseph makes me wonder if she has any interest in him. But I realize Tope is just happy and focused on her job. "Is dinner ready?" I ask Tope, as I walk into the dining room to meet her. "Yes. I finish preparing the yam and stew as you request," Tope says. "Alright, let me go and call Joseph. Or will you go call him?" I ask her, but she shakes her head and says, "You can call him."

Joseph's POV "No. It's okay. I have already spoken to the lady, and calling her again wouldn't be nice because she seems embarrassed after you scolded her. So just act like you don't know she exists. I cannot date her, if that's what you're thinking about." I clear the air between Amaka and me, and I cannot believe that Nina reacts that way when we arrive at the company and see Amara getting out of Simon's car again. My brows furrow upon seeing them, and I wonder if Amaka is dating Simon now. Does she become that loose after I move on from her? I know I am Amaka's first boyfriend, but I do not want to tell Nina that I dated Amaka before, and it stays in the past. That complicates things. After Nina speaks to Amaka rudely, not minding the staff and customers arriving, I call Amaka and speak to her by telling her not to be disrespectful to Nina. It becomes the hardest thing I do to make peace reign. Amaka does not want to look at my face when I call her name and caution her. I wor

Amaka's POV: "My goodness! What happened, Amaka? Where are you coming from?" Simon asks, as I am sure that my face is a total mess. But I do not want to tell him just yet. "I am sick today, so I have to go home," I reply, making a mental note to go and pick up Jason since I am leaving work early. "Oh my goodness. But you just left here now in good shape and looking fine. How come you are looking so red? Are you sure that you are fine?" Simon asks again, and I give a nod and reply, "Yes. I am fine. I will be back tomorrow." I know I am not going to come back here again, as I cannot stand Joseph—his pretense and lies. I cannot be a part of that. So I sign out of my profile page on the company's laptop and shut it. Simon stands watching me as I grab my bag and angrily leave the office. I am done, and I cannot be here. I have a peaceful life, not until I decide to look for a job. My blog pays me massively, along with some other advertisements I do on my own. I quickly hail a cab as
