(Amaka's POV) As I stepped into the living room, I made my way to the dining table to join Maureen, her mother, and my son to have dinner. "Mom, help me climb the chair," Jason said, as he was unable to climb the dining chair on his own. As I helped him sit, I sat beside him, lost in deep thoughts about what had happened earlier and about Mrs. Ann advising me to arrest Joseph. I didn't want to arrest Joseph. "Nothing, Ma. Let me go and help Maureen in the kitchen," I replied, rising from the chair I was sitting in beside my son. I made my way to the kitchen to assist Maureen in serving out our dinner. In the kitchen, Maureen had finished serving all the meals in different soup plates and fufu to swallow. "Amaka," Maureen began as she turned to look at me, just after she had closed the soup pot.
