KAYAAfter I told her to get out, I went to Milo's room. I knew that he was distraught right now and he probably didn't want to hear anything I had to say. It felt like we had kept the truth from him when actually, there was nothing to tell. There was a threat but it's not there anymore. I took Lana with me because I knew that it was the only way to help me get across to him. I knocked three times before he finally answered. “Mum, I know it's you. I don't want to speak to you.”Well, I didn't expect him to want to speak to me. But I needed to explain things. He wants my adopted son. Milo was my son. He had been Adrian's son first because Adrian dedicated his life to taking care of him. I can't count how many times Adrian and I fought because of Milo. Adrian valued Milo a lot and he would never let anything happen to him. “Dad, is that you?”I also knew that Milo feared Adr

KAYAMaybe I should have called Adrian. I was still trying to assess the situation when a stone came out of nowhere and hit me on the head. I stumbled back a bit because it hurt so much. “Kaya!”Nora dragged me away and took me inside. I could already feel the liquor trickling down my hand but I didn't want to look at it. “Kaya, you're hurt. Let me see.”“No, it's nothing. I'm fine. It's just a scratch.” I knew it wasn't just a scratch. “Call Adrian. Tell him what is going on. Don't tell him I've been injured. That won't go down well with him.”I should have known that I can't trust Nora with Adrian. I would rather leave the twins with candy and tell them not to eat it. As soon as Adrian picked up the call, she gave him a short but detailed explanation of what happened. And of course, she told him that I had been injured. “I had to tell him that you're bleeding. I

KAYAI had to constantly remind Adrian that it was just a surface wound that I had and not a baby. He wouldn't let me do anything, wouldn't let me leave the room, wouldn't let me move around to get anything. All I did was sleep and eat and rest. He wouldn't even let me carry the baby. “But the doctor said you should rest!”“He said I should rest just until the wound closes back up. It's not like I'm going to split open the wound with what I'm doing. I'm bored.”But he didn't care. He still told me to stay in the room and do what I wanted to while using Lana's hand to wave goodbye at me. I don't even know where he was taking my baby to. After my morning routine, food was already laid out for me on the table and at that time, I thought about a way to do something without doing anything. As soon as my breakfast was over, I dressed up and made my way to the dungeon. I mean, I

KAYA “The last person I called told me that she knew where Lucy was but she couldn't tell me because Lucy made her promise.”I could already tell where this was going. “After begging her for a while, she told me that Lucy was on a vacation but not with any of them. She gave me the location of the cabin and to my surprise, it was our honeymoon cabin. I went there and by the time I got there…” From the way he was staring at the floor, I could tell that he was reliving that day in his head. “By the time I got there, she was dead. She had a knife to her throat and her blood was everywhere. I rushed to her but she was already cold. Somehow, my hand touched the knife and that was when the coast guards came for inspection. That's when they saw what happened and arrested me.”Well, that sounded like a sticky situation. “So you were never even questioned or anything like that? It's okay, I'll take yo

KAYAWhen we eventually got to the place, it was far out. Thankfully, the sun had come down and it was just warm out. “Are you certain that this is the place?”Nora got out of the car with me. “Yes, it is. I already asked the coast guards to check it out.”The house wasn't all that big.Nora knocked three times but there was still no answer. “Do you think she's at home?”“Why won't she be? We called ahead. She's probably just busy.”She was about to knock again when the door opened. “My Queen, Beta. Good day. Please, come in.”The first thing I smelt when I entered was ginger. “Forgive me for taking time to open the door. I had something to do in the kitchen and I didn't hear you on time. Please, take a seat.”She was short. Shorter than me. She had short black hair that fell just below her shoulders. Relative beauty. That's what Nora called i

KAYAWe got home when the moon was already very high in the sky. I looked at my phone as I got down from the car. Not one missed call or text from Adrian. However, I got several from Milo. Maybe he had stopped loving me. Or maybe he knew where I was and he was waiting for me to come back so he could blast me. As I got to the door, I heard Nora's voice behind me. “I’ll find out where Lucy worked from Tim and I'll come get you in the morning.”That seemed like an okay plan. As I entered the room, it was empty. I wondered if Adrian was not back from where he had gone to and maybe that was why he hadn't called me yet. But to my greatest surprise, he was standing in front of the mirror, taking pictures with Lana.He was dressed in a suit and she was in a dress I had never seen before. The way he loved her, the way he acted foolish because of love…that was wh

KAYAAfter we finally got Henry to stop looking at me like I had just given him a million dollars, we went into the building and he led us to his office. No matter how long I'd been Queen for, I would never get used to the attention that came with everyone stopping what they were doing when they walked in..I always felt.it was too much but then, it was bound to happen, being who I was. “We’re here to see your secretary. What's her name?”He cleared his table. “Sandy. She's already on her way up. Can I get you anything? Tea, coffee, water?”I shook my head immediately.“No, thank you. What can you tell us about Lucy?”“Lucy. Real nice lady. Always kept to herself. She was good at work and she was also good in bed. So I heard.”Of course. “Do you mean, she was having sex with people in the office?”He sat down and leaned over the table like it was meant to be a secret.

KAYAIt was already midnight. When we got home and we put the flash drive into the computer, we didn't know how much work we had gotten ourselves. Lucy saw a lot of people on a daily basis..it's no wonder why she didn't have the time for anything else..She must have been handling a lot of cases. First off, we isolated the people who were work related. And then, we went on to the rest. “There are still a lot of names and my back hurts.”“You can either suck it up and let us do it now or you can postpone the work to tomorrow. And we will still do it then.”She looked at me like she hated me. “You try driving for hours.”“I wanted to drive. You wouldn't allow me.”“I said my back hurts, not that I wanted to die. Let's continue.”We had to ask for Milo's help because along with her schedule and visitor log, Sandy had also given us a list of our clients and family w

KAYAWe started with the bars. If there was anywhere that men knew anything, it was always in the bar. And who could resist two good looking women? Although those women were already known as the Beta and the Queen. “I don't know. I don't think anyone is going to want to tell us anything. I mean, it's pretty obvious who we are.”Nora, who still had food in her mouth, turned to me.“We’re on the coast..it's like a whole new world out here. Don't worry. They know you exist, they just don't know you.”Really?“Are you sure? I don't want to scare off any potential help.”She dropped the chicken bone that she had finished devouring. “Trust me, I'm sure. The Chief here reports to the nearby Alpha who then reports to the King. It's a long chain of command and they're not bothered to find out who's behind it. Like I said, they know you exist, they just don't know you.”Well, this shoul

KAYANo one said anything. And then one of the large men stood up..“You heard the lady. Don't start acting all dumb now. Who knows Tobias Harrison?”I hadn't been expecting him.to say anything but I appreciated the help because finally someone stood up. “I do.”It was one of the school boys. “You.” I pointed at him with the bottle and then threw it to the ground “Come here.”Obviously, he was scared as he made his way over to me and I walked away from the pig on the floor so I could meet him halfway. “You say you know the man I'm looking for?”He nodded and I saw how his hands shook. “Yes. He's my father.”His father? Well, this was interesting. What were the odds? I brought out the picture and showed it to him. “Is this the man? Is this your father?”He took one look and nodded. I pointed to Nora.“Go to that lady ove
