KAYAI was officially arrested. As I stood, holding the placard that held my name, age, height and crime description, I knew that I now had a record. This was not how I planned for this day to go. “Next!”Nora went next and they handed her the placard. A female officer came. “Come with me.”She led us to our cell. “This is where you'll be spending the night. I know it's not a lot but please, manage it. By tomorrow, they'll be taking you to see the commissioner. I would advise you to call the best lawyers or else, you'll spend the rest of your life in jail.”I looked around the cell and I didn't like how messy it was looking. It smelt terrible and there were two other women passed out drunk in the cell. They had thrown up and it made bile rise up in my throat. How was I going to survive the night? “Do you need anything?”Yes. To die.“Plea

KAYAI just sat there on the floor, thinking about my life..I felt quite weak and I was really hungry. My stomach made a noise and Nora heard it. “Was that you?”I nodded. It was funny how the two ladies in the cell passed out and till now, they haven't moved an inch. “Dont worry about it. I'll look for something to eat for you.”We were both in the cell. How would she find me something to eat? Besides, we both needed to eat. Not just me.An officer came back with fresh breath mints and opened our cells. “Look sharp. The father of the boy you took wants to see the two women who caused such a ruckus yesterday. You should have planned your escape better.” If we had truly kidnapped the kid, there is no way they would have never found us because as soon as we left the bar, that's the last time anyone will see us. But I just left them to believe what they wanted to. It was obvious everyone here was a knuckle head and I didn't have the time to engage them. If they were going to take

KAYAI don't know if Nora forgot that we were being arrested and we were going to have records and could possibly go to jail if not for the fact that we were who we were. But if this was a normal situation and we had really planned to kidnap that kid, there was no way we would not spend the rest of our lives in jail. She didn't even care about the fact that he was the district commissioner. I think that fact even irritated her more because she just kept speaking to him no matter what he said. It was like they knew each other before and she hated him already. “You kidnapped my son! There's nothing else you want to say! People in the bar agree with the story!”People in the bar? The motorcycle guy…he was the only one who could tell the truth. “The people in the bar are drunk fools! They wouldn't know what's happening even if the sun came down and fell on their heads. You want to believe them?”Nora was surely going to wear him out eventually. All I had to do was stand there and wa

KAYA“Milo, where the hell is your father? Isn't he getting my texts? Why isn't he coming? Why didn't he come with you?”The door opened and Nora walked into the room. “I don't know. He hasn't been home. I haven't seen him yet.”What on earth was going on? Where was my husband? “What about your brothers? Are they okay?” He nodded. “They’ve been asking a lot of questions about you and dad though and I'm running out of things to tell them.”I needed to go back to my home. “Nora, get us out of here. I need to go back to my kids since my husband has forgotten who he is.”My head was still spinning when I tried to stand up. “Kaya, you need to rest. You hit your head pretty bad.”I touched my head and thankfully, there was no bandage. Only a bandaid. “Don’t worry about me. I'll rest when I go back home and check on my kids.”I could tell that we were still in the station, they probably just took us to the lounge area.By the time I get back home, Adrian better be dead or dying becaus

KAYA“Kay-”“Adrian, please. I'm trying to get some sleep. Sleep that I couldn't get because you left me in that cell for days! Please, leave me alone.”I walked over to my side of the bed and pulled the covers over me. I didn't have time to banter words with him. “Why’re you acting like this? I thought I already apologized. Why are you making it to be something it's not?”I knew what he was doing. Riling me up so I would talk. But I won't give in to him. I had to get up early tomorrow. Tobias was coming and I was almost definitely going to be spending the first part of the day alone since I wanted Nora to go and get me the case files. After I saw Tobias, I would meet up with her so that we would go to Lucy's house together. From what I gather, the house had been closed down since the murder. I just hoped that no one had gone into the house after the murder to mess things up. “Kaya, going to bed while angry isn't going to make things better. Besides, I had no idea you were going
