Lahat ng Kabanata ng A License To Kill My Husband : Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

Jared and I have been married for more than twelve years now. We have three months more to our thirteenth wedding anniversary. But the memories of our time together were tainted with regret and unhappiness. We met each other when we were both eighteen and poor, struggling to make ends meet. I was an orphan whereas Jared was the son of a single mother living in poverty and we had vowed to work together to achieve our dreams. Our fortunes changed seven years into our relationship when my late father's will had been discovered, leaving me his sole heir. Jared and I got married and he had convinced me to transfer some of my properties to his name. He promised to work hard and provide for us while I became a stay at home wife, raising our future children and taking care of the household.I don't know how it happened but things took a turn for the worse when Jared gained control over my properties. He became more powerful and conceited and I was left to live a life filled with regrets ove

I was lifted off the bed and onto a gurney and the medical staff moved swiftly as they prepared to take me to the labor room. I felt a surge of fear mixed with pain as I was wheeled out of the room, Jared's voice echoing behind me, still refusing to consent to the emergency cesarean section. "Let her push the baby out naturally," he insisted, his words still cold and unyielding. I tried to respond, to tell him to stop being ridiculous and sign the papers, but my voice was hoarse and barely audible.I heard his mother's voice and could tell she had arrived the hospital. I hoped against hope for her to atleast be on my side as a mother and to convince her son to sign the consent form but what I heard from her broke me the more."She will do as my son says. A C-section is too expensive. Who would you expect to pay the bills? My unemployed daughter-in-law?"I tried to forget what I had heard her say to the nurses still trying to convince my husband to sign the consent form and neither co

"My brother has returned. Now let's watch and see if you'd still act with such inpunity before him" Yvette whispered to her mockingly with an air of confidence and this made Esmeralda's heart to break. How was it possible that she had lived years with these people and their disregards for her without her feeling suffocated in anyway? How was it possible she had slaved all her lives away for them yet still they didn't even value her and at such a time as this. She had lost a child and the very next day her husband had brought home his second child from infidelity and she had accepted the child without questioning, she had accepted anything and everything from her husband because she had been scared of him leaving her, she had been so tolerating and accommodating and this had caused her death. But well, this was her second chance at life. She wasn't going to throw it away. "Who is that and where do you think you two are going?" Esmeralda fired the second Jared closed the door behind h

"Mom! What's happening?" Jared turned towards his mother and muttered , still unable to believe what was unfolding before him. Perhaps he was seeing wrong or better still having an itchy ear to have heard that from Esmeralda. Esmeralda of all people. The fact that it was from her was what made it weirder. She didn't even care to explain herself to them despite seeing the confusion written all over their faces. But she didn't care. Not even a bit. Wasn't he the one who had brought in a little girl the other day? Introducing her to his wife as his child and newest addition to their family. What audacity!! What manner of a man was he who never realized right from wrong when it came to him but quick to notice when others around him were in err. She shaked her head. She wasn't in the mood to brood over her past. Or rather her future or what would remain of it if she didn't act now. This was her time to correct them before she would find herself in the situation that had sent her her

Francis stared at Esmeralda from the window he sat close to. She was sound asleep and didn't sob in her sleep like she did earlier anymore. Her nose had become free too, he had applied a balm on her nostrils the previous night due to how hard she struggled with breathing due to mucous. He couldn't believe that she was finally close to him. So close by and in his bed. He had anticipated her arrival at the bar the previous day. It was the only plausible place he could think of her coming to find him in. Following what had happened. And even though he wasn't sure of her arrival, he still waited behind and in the end, his patience had paid off when she arrived few minutes later after he did. He quickly faced the windows view of the city when he noticed her turning in the bed. He couldn't afford selling himself out of of she noticing that he had been staring at her ever since. Esmeralda writhed in the bed. Her eyes were still groggy from all she drank the previous night. She wonder
