Knowing his date

Chapter 61Veronica's POV Of all the things that happened in that plane ride and since the time we got to China, this was the worst.Just like my first business trip to France with alpha llyod, I also had to share a room with alpha callum. And even though I wanted to believe that things like this were mere coincidence, I could not bring myself to." What do you mean by there is a mix up in the rooms?" Alpha llyod asked even though his own room was already checked and he held a key in his hands." It's none of your business. You can be on your way and we will settle this between ourselves" alpha callum said, his own voice holding a promise of war should alpha llyod do otherwise. But as always, alpha llyod did not notice this slight change in tone or maybe he was not just bothered and pressed further." It's my business as long as she works for me. I will not let you take advantage of her like that" he said." It was a simple booking mistake." He said, trying to defend himself.Again,

Confessing his feelings

Chapter 62Veronica's POV At first, I wanted to laugh it off, thinking it was some sort of joke. There was no how she was into women when she looked that beautiful. But her face was set in a firm line, whatever trace of joke I thought she would have on her face nowhere to be found." But you are in a date with alpha llyod..." I said, as though to remind her the main reason why she was here. She scratched the back of her neck tiredly." Well I know. The thing is, my parents seem to think being gay is something that can be solved by a man. So they are trying to make us spend more time together. But I don't even see him as a person not to talk more of a potential husband material. I'm telling you this so you can be more comfortable around me and stop thinking he is cheating on you" she said.I sighed." I don't feel that way about him" I said again but she just waved me off." If that is what you want to force yourself to believe then do be it. I just want you to know that I have been a

Losing them both.

Chapter 63Veronica's POV The kiss was sweet and ravenous, every inch of his mouth closing in on mine as though he could not get enough, could feel me enough.I was stunned, the words I could see forming on the top of my tongue instantly dissipating as I struggled to catch my breath, struggled to make whatever this was make sense to me." What is going on here?" A voice thundered from the other end of the hallway and due to reflexes, I pushed alpha llyod off of me, my face coated in shame and anguish as my eyes fell on alpha callum. He stood there, eyes holding anger and betrayal, his face contorted in a mix of hurt and surprise." Am I interrupting something?" He said, his voice slowly breaking as he now turned his eyes towards alpha llyod who was smirking as though it was the best thing he had ever done." Yes" alpha llyod answered and at that point, I finally found my voice." No! Please callum let me..." I was beginning to say but he was already nodding his head, muttering some i

killing an alpha

Chapter 65Alpha llyod's POVI felt bad about a lot of things. I felt bad that it took me that long to acknowledge my feelings for her, I hated the fact that now, she really seemed to like callum even though he was the worst person for her." If you keep drinking like this you will just end up embarrassing yourself in front of all these potential clients" Morgan said, subtly taking the bottle of champagne away from my hands as I tried to take a swig directly from the bottle." I don't care. They need me, my business is doing great and they are all here to beg me for collaborations" I said, shrugging my shoulders." I assume this is because of Veronica" she said.I liked her. She was not jealous and unlike the other girls I was forced to go on a date with, she did not seem to care about me." Why is she with callum? She will just end up hurting herself"I said, the idea beginning to annoy me further as I made for the bottle again. She was quick to take it out of my reach, giving me a lo

Public display of affection

Chapter 66I was scared. It was the very first time I saw him like that. Saw him so angry and uncomprosiming. The moment he started beating Trent into a pulp, a small crowd had gathered and Morgan was one of them. She had run towards me, throwing her hands around my shoulder and pulling me up to my feet." Are you okay! Oh goddess I'm so sorry I should have come look for you after you left." She said but I shook my head, trying to smile as much as the bruises I had allowed me to." You don't need to apologize, there was no way for you to have known that my mate was alpha trent and he had immense hatred for me" I said to her.The crowd was already whispering, looking at me and looking at aloha llyod. They could see the tension that existed between the both of us sexually and I knew this was the last thing I wanted.Attention. And certainly not from a whole room full of alphas. " You have to stop him. If he dies, he will be excommunicated from the alpha's club and his product will be b

A kiss with alpha callum

Chapter 67Veronica's POV Before we got back to the hotel, the news had already spread like wildfire on the internet. The two most famous rich men, proposing their love to a woman like me.I could feel the stares of surprise and glares of hate as I walked down the halls from men and women alike.Thankfully, Morgan stood by my side like a second skin, refusing to let go of me for a second as we entered the room. What she had told me in the car stuck to me. How was I supposed to survive and live my semi perfect life now when every one in the world would have their eyes out for me?The door opened after a slight knock and alpha callum came in, looking weary but somehow still managing to maintain his calm demeanor." Hi, get dressed. We are leaving now" he said.No questions asked,no room for opposition. I could see that his fight with alpha llyod was already taking a toll on him. So I knew now was not the best time to argue with him about anything.I packed my clothes into a bag and tur

Going back on his plan

Chapter 68Callum's POV This was not the plan, none of this was according to script and it was all the fault of my heart. That stupid organ in my body that did not know how to differentiate between love and bait. When did I begin to like her? Perhaps it was when she began to smile more often with me. Or maybe it was because she reminded me too fondly of my last girlfriend. At least before llyod stole her from me.I had a plan. A strict plan that I was supposed to follow. I did not have to do whatever I wanted with her, she was bait for llyod. And now, somehow, I had caught feelings for her, my heart racing like crazy just seeing her walk towards me. My heart is now behaving like a pesky teenage schoolboy.I sighed as I got into my house, turning on the lights and jumping as I saw her seating there in the darkness, no movements from her." I think I got you good" Emily said, her teeth in full display." What kind of a psychopath sits in the darkness?" I asked.A small image of me doin

A murder attempt

Chapter 69Veronica's POV I was still pissed as I got prepared for bed later that night. I had found myself sleeping through most of the morning and only waking up at intervals to eat an early lunch, and then, dinner. My bags were unpacked, my head was banging and the whole apartment for some reason felt cold.I shivered as I got off the couch that I had laid down on for a good part of the night, the urge to bath suddenly overwhelming me as I went into my room. The cold only seemed to increase as I stepped into the hot bathtub, allowing the water to soak every part of my being and allow me to relax for a brief moment.I did not want to step out of the bath tub but when I eventually did, I could feel my hairs stand up against my body in fright. I did not know what it was, but something felt oddly off.I wrapped my body with a towel as I selected my clothes to wear. My back was turned to the little window in my room and I felt a creeping look at the back of my head, almost as though s

A poisoned meal

Chapter 70Veronica's POV My body hit the floor with a painful thud and I groaned In pain at the sound of one of my bones breaking at the impact with the ground. When I finally did come to, I realized that alpha llyod was on the floor, in his own pool of blood. The bullet was still stuck in his side and I knew that without it being removed, there was no way he would be able to heal with the help of his wolf.My brain was disoriented and I could feel my own heart thudding as I tried to think of a hospital that accepted werewolves. We were in a human based society but some hospitals knew of our existence and treated us.Tears gathered in my eyes with each passing minute as I saw him trying to struggle with his words, the blood now rushing into his lungs stopping him from talking. He spat a handful out, finally gripping his phone and tossing it in my hands." Call Azriel" he said weakly. With quivering hands and a head that now felt lighter than feathers, voice quivering." Hey, what do

Taking revenge

Chapter 71Alpha callum's POV I was livid with anger. I could not show it to them, at least not while they were still in shock about the entire incident, but I had a very good idea who could be the prime suspect." You are not staying here for a minute sooner. Get your bags and let's go. I will call the chief of police and also some investigators. Whoever it is that thinks he can play such a stunt is raving mad' alpha llyod fumed. It took all I had in me to not shout, to not go over to her house and squelch her neck.My heart was beating quickly. The image of her there on the bed, body numb from the poison as she struggled to stay awake sat with me.She could have died." Callum?" I heard her voice call, snapping me out of the self guilt that now threatened to consume me.They were all staring at me eagerly. " Sorry I did not quite get that" I said, stumbling on my words.Alpha llyod's eyes turned into stilts as he looked at me, pursing his lips in suspicion." We were asking if you
