Semua Bab Alpha Draven's Regret; Chasing My Secretary : Bab 81 - Bab 90

Aveline The feeling of anger that was burning within me was now replaced with confusion and I ran my hand through my hair. "Please help me check if she's still there." My hand had started to fidget in fear. My body succumbed to the fear that was slowly taking over me. " I would do that right now." It was not up to ten seconds and she had started to pant. "I don't think she would have left the place, but since you are scared, I would do that right now." Sabrina said Betty was twenty steps away and she was yet to reach after ten seconds of jogging. Maybe I should have told her about the situation on ground and with that she would have been more careful with Betty. Some minutes ago, I was fuming with anger, but now I'm in a situation where I can't even think straight. I should have taken matters more seriously, but I failed to do that, and who knows if I was going to face the consequences seconds or minutes from now. I prayed to the moon goddess for a positive answer from Sabrina

Beatrice"What happened to you when you confronted Aveline?" Beatrice asked Sofia the moment she saw her seated in the living room."What are you talking about Mom?" Sofia asked with a fake smile, trying to act as casually as possible but it was too late.Beatrice already knew what happened, she only wanted to confirm that Aveline wasn't bluffing and Sofia's silence just proved that Aveline wasn't bluffing.Beatrice exhaled slowly as she settled into the same sofa Sofia sat on."Tell me everything that happened that day. Don't leave anything out." Sofia nodded at her mother's words, there was no hiding things from Beatrice. She was always so meticulous with whatever she was doing.Sofia knew that it was better to tell everything to her, especially as it had been confirmed that she was no match for Aveline."Are you sure that's what happened? Aveline is a wolfless werewolf." Beatrice asked with doubt after Sofia finished narrating what happened. "I still think about that night, somet

AvelineFollowing slowly like a snail wasn't doing much to help my anxiety but the hope of seeing my daughter again made the slow drive worth it.Emily's car was ahead, and the two bikes were behind her, freestyling on the road like they were in some race competition even though I wouldn't know that I was being followed. Then I was the last vehicle in the line. I drove slowly so that Emily wouldn't see my car and it was killing me.My phone rang and I connected it to the car's speaker. It was Sabrina. "Hello, any update yet?" Her worried voice inquired. I could tell that she was tired. She decided to go from house to house on the other side of the city with Betty's picture to ask people if they'd seen her and I could tell from her voice that she was exhausted and worried out of her mind. She blamed herself for letting Betty out of her sight and no matter how I tried to convince her, it was like pouring water into a gasoline explosion. "Nothing solid for now, but Emily came by the o

AvelineIt had been over ten minutes since Draven and I were in the car and we sat in silence without saying a thing to one another. The only thing my eyes were fixed on was the road, but I could swear that I caught Draven staring more than twice. 'How can I be seated so close to the person who made life a living hell for me for eight years?' I thought to myself and heaved a sigh. 'I think I should have given him a hundred dollar note to board a taxi.' But are these thoughts coming now? It makes me feel so stupid. He was supposed to be far from me after our date, well he was, but not anymore. "Aveline." His voice made me gasp in shock and I looked at him with an arched eyebrow. "What?" From the look he had on his face after that question, I was harsh, but apologizing was impossible. It was never going to happen, I just hoped he knew. "I just wanted to let you know that I was not behind Betty's—-" "Please can we not talk about that right now?" I cut him sharply with what sounded

Aveline The cop looked at me with disappointment on his face. "I'm…I'm sorry—-" "Sorry for what?!" My voice made the cop gulp in shock. Of course, things like this should not be happening, they want to let her go all because she has a mental illness?!There won't be any difficulty in faking it would there? I furrowed my brows in annoyance. "So you are going to let her go all in the name of some mental illness called schizophrenia?!" A cop tried to calm me down, but after shooting him a deadly stare, he stopped in his tracks. "What if we find out it's a fake?" Draven's voice brought silence in the interrogation and I saw Emily's mother shocked. "Just as you are not willing to break the law that says you should not jail a mentally unstable patient, then I guess you should be ready to face the court when you are reported for not doing deeper research on fake evidence." They all looked at one another before heaving a sigh in unison. "I don't think we should jail her." One of the cops
