Sophia's POV."I know this is a bit weird," She chuckled softly, "but...I've been here for a while, and it gets a little lonely."I couldn't help but look at her in disbelief."Lonely?" I raised my brows. "But you're rich and...beautiful.""And alone..." She sighed, releasing my hand. "I'm not someone who easily associates with people. And no one has tried approaching me, so I just tried to make an effort today and meet someone.""But if you don't want to be friends then—""No!" I interrupted. "I'll be your friend. I'm new here, and it would be nice to have someone."I thought she'd be haughty because of how pretty she was, but she was extremely friendly. I hoped we would get along well. "That's nice," She replied with a broad smile. "I can give you a tour, or have you seen everywhere?""No," I answered, shaking my head. "A tour would be nice. Thanks.""Good." Rita giggled. "Let's go. We can get a drink or two later.""Sure," I flashed a smile at her."Come," She urged, grabbing my

Alessandro's POV."Boss, we've shipped a large quantity of the drugs to five different countries," One of my men reported."How much profit has been made?" I asked, taking a slow sip of the liquor in my hand."A significant amount has already been sold..." another one replied, a small smile tugging on his lips."I hope none of it was sold to minors," I said, narrowing my eyes at the four of them before me."Of course, sir." One of them quickly replied."It took you a second to respond," I spat, my voice sharp with anger. "None of my drugs should ever find their way to teenagers. If I catch or hear that any of you are selling to kids, you'll fucking regret it."They shifted uncomfortably, their heads lowering at my gaze. "And another thing," I continued, my tone cold and menacing. "I've heard some rumored about some of you dabbling in trafficking women. Let me make this clear...my business has its limits. I don't deal in prostitution, and I such as hell don't kidnap women." "Stop dra

Sophia's POV.I wondered what they were talking about in there. Why did he have to pull her away like that?"Why is he being such a jerk?" The questions burned in my mind. Did he expect to be the only person in my life? Why was he so determined to isolate me?"He just makes me hate him!" I hissed, anger surging through me. "Why does he keep meddling in my affairs?""Maybe I should've just taken that poison and ended him...No, no, I don't mean that," I muttered, shaking my head. But I couldn't let him hurt Rita. She didn't deserve to be dragged into this mess. She was just being kind to me. I had to do something. I walked towards the room, my heart pounding in my chest. Upon swinging the door open, I froze. Alessandro's hands were wrapped around Rita's neck, he was strangling her. My eyes widened in horror and my breath caught. "Are you crazy?!" I screamed, rushing to them. "Leave her alone! Stop choking her!"I grabbed his arm, trying to pull him away, but he was like a stone, un

Sophia's POV."Come with me, we are leaving," He said, his voice firm and resolved."I don't want to go yet," I argued, crossing my arms. "I still have so much to see.""You have five minutes to get to the car," He said coldly. "If you delay, I'll take you to my special room of torture. Trust me, it won't be fun."With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me fuming. "He's so annoying!" I muttered, stomping my feet in frustration. "I can't even get a chance to paint anymore. Rita's promise to get me a private room to paint is now ruined because of him."I shuddered as his earlier words replayed in my head. Special room of torture. Just the thought of it sent chills down my spine."That man is insane," I whispered to myself. ___When we arrived at the mansion, I stepped out of the car and headed to the maids' quarters, eager to get away from him. "Where are you going?" Alessandro's sharp voice rang behind me.I stopped and turned to glare at him, "Where else would I be?""You're

Sophia's POV."How did she get this number?" I wondered aloud. It was at that moment, I remembered that I gave it to her."What does she want to give me?" I marveled, my curiosity piqued. Still, I shook my head. "I can't meet her tonight. Alessandro is already upset. I don't want to do anything to make him even angrier."With a sigh, I typed out a reply:"I won't be able come tonight. I'll see you another day. I'm sorry for what happened to you. I hope you're doing better."I hit send, turned off my phone, and let out another sigh, heavier this time. I glanced at the mess of scattered snacks on the floor and felt a tightness in my chest."Maybe, I should've just stopped laughing,"I muttered, my voice tinged with guilt. "He actually seemed less grumpy tonight...and I just had to ruin it."Slowly, I bent down, picking up the gummy bears one by one. With each piece I cleared, the guilt in my chest seemed to increase. I didn't understand why I felt so guilty, especially after everything

Sophia's POV. It was already 1 p.m., and I was walking around the garden, enjoying the view. Although, the garden wasn't like the usual ones around others homes, I still admired the aesthetics it provided. “I'm sure if I drew a story around this and exhibited it, it would inspire people…” I whispered, smiling gently. “Even people with dark hearts like Alessandro.”“Time is running out, and it doesn't seem like he's falling in love…” I muttered with a sigh. “But at least he smiled…that's some progress.”A smile crept onto my lips as his rare smile replayed in my mind.I glanced around the garden again and then lifted my gaze to the sun. After a moment of admiring its bright beauty, I looked away. “Want to help me with some cooking?” Mary's vibrant voice broke through my thoughts, and I turned to her.“Of course,” I giggled, walking toward her. “In the past, I would have preferred nature over cooking, but my perspective on things has changed a bit.”“I can see that,” Mary said, laugh

Sophia's POV. “W-What?” I stammered, gasping, escaping my lips. “Why are you acting so surprised?” Alessandro said, his voice filled with mockery. “You're doing all those things women do when they fall in love. You smile like you can't help it, cook without being asked, and hug, and kiss unexpectedly. You giggle too much, stare deeply like I'm some kind of dream.” “Enough!” I snapped, shoving his hand off my chin. “I'm not in love with you.” A taunting smirk appeared across his lips, “Oh really? Because you're ticking every box.” I was taken aback by his insinuations. “Don't flatter yourself,” I spat, glaring at him. “I was simply happy about the art supplies, that's it. Don't turn this into something it's not.” “You're the one to fall in love, not me,” I added, my voice sharp. “Hmm…”He hummed, his tone sounding unconvinced, “If you say so,” “What's that supposed to mean?” I raised my voice. “It's fine, Little Sophia,” He said with an infuriating smirk. “I get it. Sophia's POV. With a sigh, I put down the sketchbook and lifted my gaze to the ceiling, wondering what was becoming of me. When did I become so controllable, so unable to resist that toxic temptation—Alessandro? I picked up the sketch again and scoffed. “I always complete what I start…”I whispered, turning back to draw him properly. As I added each detail, I couldn't help but swallow hard. This man was so fucking hot...so attractive. “Fuck! I'm done with this!” I snapped, slamming the sketchbook shut. I set it aside, along with my pencil. Closing my eyes, I tried to sleep, but Alessandro's words echoed in my mind, “Are you falling for this monster?”“Never," I murmured to myself. Not after what Ryan did to me. I'll never fall in love again…”__The next morning, I went into the bathroom, eager to freshen up and explore the surroundings again. I had so many ideas to sketch. As the water ran down my skin in the shower, I hummed softly as usual. It was a song by one of my favorit

Alessandro's POV."Alessandro?" I called out, my voice laced with panic. "Alessandro!" I yelled louder.I heard his dark chuckle against my neck, and I sighed in relief. For a moment, I thought he had been shot or something worse. "What is wrong with you?" I spat, summoning my strength to push him off me.Lifting himself slightly, he curled his lips into a smirk."Were you worried about me?" He said in his usual taunting tone."This is not funny," I hissed, shooting daggers at him with my eyes. "Didn't you hear those gunshots? Why are you acting so calm? Shouldn't you go check what's happening?""Why should I do that?" He scoffed, pulling down his pants without a care.My eyes widened in disbelief as his boxers followed."Are you crazy?" I snapped. "Is this seriously the time for sex? What is wrong with you?"Instead of addressing my concern, he laughed, his tone mocking. "I didn't hire guards for nothing," He said nonchalantly. "Although they can be incompetent at times. They'll h
