Blake P.O.V.The room inside the mirror opens up ahead of us, as if we are moving through a tunnel, and now we are arriving at our destination. I have Athena in my left hand, and she in turn has Allison in her right. I think about the moment I decided to use illusion spells on our children to keep their growth spurt from the girls until we were back in the pack for good. I knew Allie and Tabs would give me hell for it, but luckily for me, they have actually not been that bad about it. Allie was shocked, rightfully so, when she discovered the truth when we finally were back to our own home for good, but she understood my motives. Tabs, well, I’m not quite sure she has forgiven me yet. Or if she will before the kids are of age. Damien says it’s 50/50 right now. I hope we might get some answers tonight about that. We finally step fully through to the room, and Athena sighs happily. The room quivers as if happy to see us, and the shadows rise a little to meet our girl in greeting. She g

Rose P.O.V.The day feels like something borrowed out of a fairytale book, but more real and less happy ending. We followed Crean up Bear’s Notch, but he gave us the slip and we had to be content with the knowledge that we know he is here, watching, counting, waiting. The borrowed scent marker episode was written down, as is law, and sent to Gold Moon with no smiles. Blake answered back with a string of curses and Allie told us to be careful. We will be careful and strategic at the same time. “Are you ready for today, sis?” Ruby asks, coming into my office. I look up from my paperwork, lifting an eyebrow. She and Nicholas should have gone home days ago, but they insist on staying and helping. Not that I’m complaining. “Define ready.” I answer, putting my pen down. “The mate-rite is important for the pack. Xander is a good man, and seems like a good mate.” “He is..” “But?” “But what, Ruby?” “Something is bothering you, Rose. Do not try to ignore it, or tell me to mind my own bus

Allison P.O.V. Talia keeps her eyes on me as if she needs me to repeat myself, but I know she doesn’t. She swallows. Then she turns to the others, her eyes are overbright although she never met Mara before, she knows what kind of pain the woman must have endured to stay alive long enough to come here and give us her memories. “I will need a droplet of blood from everyone into this vial.” She says, looking around the room, meeting everyone’s eyes one after another. No one protests. “I’ll start.” A small voice declares and Tara pokes her finger, letting a drop of blood fall into the vial. I lock eyes with Oloron, but he shrugs. “Tara..” “I am going to help you, and I’m staying for this.” The girl answers stubbornly. Oloron kisses her cheek, poking his own finger and mirroring her. After him the vial goes around the room until it comes back to Talia, who delivers a drop of her own blood lastly. Tabatha moves to her sister and they nod to each other. They crawl on top of

Blake P.O.V. Why is all this crazy shit happening to us and our friends and family? I keep asking myself when we are in the memory of Mara, and I get no answer to it. No real answer anyway, nothing out of ‘we are supernaturals, and that is just how it is’, but seriously, one should think the Moon Goddess and the other deities are bored or something and to create endless drama for us to keep themselves entertained. I wonder if she is looking down on us with an amused little smile sometimes, pokes a button and shit happens. Or “oh, they seem too comfortable, let’s shake things up.” The memory spell is pretty neat, and other than being a blood spell, and knowing most blood magic is forbidden, I just have to recognize the use for this. Talia explained it, and also that it’s not forbidden when we give a drop of blood of free will, which makes sense. I also think the others would protest if my Delta was doing forbidden magic, Princess or no. I can’t believe Crean and Calder could do such

Allison P.O.V.My force has to be loud and boisterous. That is right up my alley, so we move through the forest, and when we come to the tree line, some of my warriors shift into their wolves and start howling, growling and running from the trees to the nearest houses and back again. Each turn from the trees takes them a little deep into the territory. Nicholas is in wolf form, running up to Ruby every time he returns to the tree, panting and nosing her. She giggles, and I try very hard not to roll my eyes. “You’re on duty, Alpha.” I tell him the fourth time he does it, and his wolf just snorts at me, as if saying ‘your point?’ We can hear the others do the same tactics from all over the Blue Light packgrounds, and suddenly the area between the nearest houses and our hiding spot fills with overgrown rogue wolves on steroids. They growl, foam at their mouth, their eyes gleaming red and menacing. ‘Here we go.’ Dawn says, making me smile small and deadly. “Do it.” I tell Tal, and she
