'What are the odds that I would bump into my ex or my family? I haven't accidentally crossed paths with any of them in five years; how will just one night change it? And who's to say they would even recognise me if we met? They think I'm dead anyway, and I'm no longer bearing my birth name. I could walk past them, and they wouldn't even know I did.' I thought as I bit my inner cheek. "You're getting it, aren't you?" Dorothy grinned and dropped her hand from my face. "It's not as easy as you think. What if that one night could make all the difference? What if it was the set day for everything to shatter?" I sighed and bowed my head. It was easy to think positively, but I had to be realistic. I hadn't seen my parents or Bruno in the last five years because I wasn't in their circle. I was in places where even their corpse wouldn't be caught dead in. But going to Bianca's engagement meant I was re-entering their world. They wouldn't have to go too far to see me. "I don't know how

'That was so mean of him. Why would he play with my feelings like that? Is this how he goes around serenading women he has no feelings for, making them have something for him, and then breaking their hearts when he tells them that he doesn't see them that way? That's so mean. How can he do that? It's disgusting. I—'*Ping*The microwave chimed, announcing my pizza was done and snapping me out of my thoughts.'Finally done. I'm starving.' I breathed, opening the microwave.'And maybe I shouldn't think that way about Sebastian. Do I really think he's the type of guy that would play with a lady's emotions like that? I don't think so. He hasn't given me a reason to.' I set the hot plate on the kitchen island and rushed to the fridge to get a can of soda. I dropped it beside the plate and plopped down on one of the kitchen’s stools. 'But what if that's what he wants me to think? He's doing it in a sneaky way so I doubt myself when I think of it, and I won't see the truth until I'm neck de

"What!" I gasped as my eyes flung open, and I sat up straight. My phone fell from my face just as fast as I moved, landing on my lap and then bouncing to the ground. "No, no, no." I winced, picking it up and scrutinising every inch of it. "Is anything wrong? Are you hurt?" Sebastian asked, his voice full of worry. "No, I'm fine. My phone just fell. It's not broken or anything." I assured him as I stood up from the bean bag and began placing up and down the studio. "Could you repeat what you said earlier? I didn't hear it." Oh, I heard it alright. I heard it loud and clear but I wanted to believe that it wasn’t a trick of the mind or my brain wasn't braining. He didn't ask what I think I heard, did he? "Oh, I offered to be your date to Bianca's engagement party. Are you interested?" He asked, and I stopped dead in my tracks. 'Oh... Oh! Oh! Oh! He had really asked that! He's really asking me to be his date!' I squealed, pressing my hand to my face. 'Calm down. Calm down. Why am

"A princess Lily magical princess power castle." Sebastian replied, a hint of amusement in his voice, and my scowl deepened. "That's not what I meant, and you know it. Why did you buy it?" I asked, keeping my anger at bay. Dorothy told me to know what he was saying or his reason for doing something before jumping to conclusions, and I was trying my best to do just that, but that was hard. Especially when his reason was already as plain as day. "Because every princess needs her castle." He shrugged, and the sides of his lips curved to a smile. "And you heard what Tiffany said, Princess Lily needs her princess power castle or she'll be weak and King Bearyon would take over the world." "Are you trying to spite me?" I snapped, and his eyes widened, every trace of amusement dropping off. "What? No!" He exclaimed, reducing the gap between us until I was barely a hair’s breadth away from him. His cologne swept through my nose, and his powerful presence lit small flames in my vein

*Knock knock* A soft knock echoed through my studio, and I looked up from sewing. "Come in." I said, grabbing my phone and checking the time. A quarter past midnight, I still had like an hour to work. "I hope I'm not disturbing you?" Sebastian asked, walking into the room and holding up a glass cup filled with light yellow liquid. "I brought fresh apple juice. I thought you would need a bit of natural sugar to boost your energy." "I didn't know we had fresh apple juice." I replied as I stood up from my chair and stretched my body. My bones gave a small pop, and I sighed. "We don't, but I there were some apples, so I made some for you." He replied, handing the cup to me. "You didn't have to. I know you must be tired after your flight. You should be resting." I fretted and touched his cheek. "There are eye bags under your eyes, Sebastian. You should be in bed sleeping." "I know you're hopelessly worried about me but I'm quite stronger than you think." He teased, and I snor
