Dominic's pov I stepped out of the room with a feeling of satisfaction. Emily was the perfect bait to get to Maximus, and I had no doubt he was going to fall for the trick because of his liking for women. Emily was too beautiful to resist for sure. While walking to my office, my mind was filled with the thought of her, she was smart and highly resourceful and although many would say it is due to her time as an agent, I view it differently, she has taken down several Mafia lords and having her with me could pose as a risk, but it was worth it. By the time I arrived at my office, I had sat down by my desk and picked up my phone, dialling Barry's phone. "Barry, I need you to brief Emily on the plan we talked about and make sure she knows what is expected of her, I already showed her the layout, but I know you will come up with something even better." "Alright boss," he replied. "Permit me to ask, but are you sure we can trust her? Remember, she is a federal agent, and they are very tr

Dominic's POV We would soon arrive at a distant location, one that had nobody in sight. I noticed the familiar statue of Maximus standing at the entrance of the unfurnished house with a smile on his face. "Great to see you again dear friend. I hope your trip was successful." "Maximus listen to me! I won't fall for your gimmicks, and if you think I am going to hand you the deeds again, then think about it." I warned, struggling through the cuff. "Somethings didn't change about you, Dominic. You are still that stubborn man that I know and I want you to access the situation right now with me. No one is going to save you from my hand if you don't hand me the deeds." "I would rather die than do that," I said spitting on the floor. "Very well then, you called for it." He said and I was pushed further into the building. My eyes landed on an unconscious body. As soon as the room became bright, I studied the body briefly and realized it was Maria, Emily's sister. "I thought she was dead

Maximus’s povWhen I arrived at Jace's apartment, the weather had become warm once more, and I helped Jace turn on the air conditioner while heading to his room. Jace was an adept reader who hated being disturbed, but I needed his help if I ever wanted to get the deeds.Upon stepping into his room, there was no sign of Jace. The tables were littered with books. Typical of him to always be unorganized. While I went down to get the pillows, I noticed something unfamiliar. I looked to see Jace's slippers at the front of his bathroom. Jace never leaves these things in the bathroom before, so what was going on? I made my way slowly to the door of the bathroom, where I leaned closer to get a grasp of what was happening. The shower was running and it appeared that someone was having their bath. The moment I opened the door, I gasped in disbelief at the scene of horror displaying itself right before my eyes.I was staring at the lifeless body of Jace, who appeared to have been drowned in

Dominic's PovOnce the door to the elevator opened, we rushed outside the company to find Maximus already surrounded by the police. "It's over, Maximus; just give it up. Your time has come to an end." I yelled out. "You had this all planned out didn't you?" He asked, his hands raised in the air. "You failed to prepare properly. I have been planning a raid on you for the past weeks, watching your every move instantly. I want you to know that when the time comes, the law will always catch up with you."One of the policemen with the cuffs stepped forward and held his hands. In a matter of seconds, I watched him pull out a gun from the police hand and I felt something hit me in the chest. My vision became blurry as I also watched Maximus fall to his knees. I looked at my hand and realized he had shot me with the gun."Dominic! You will be alright." Scorpion's right-hand man was beside me. I couldn't think of anything in the world other than staying in the arms of Emily at that moment.

EmilyThe route to the graveyard was on the outskirts of the city. Dominic suggested we bring flowers and dress in black attire to pay tribute to Maximus. I may not like the idea of seeing Maximus's grave, but one thing was certain, he changed everything about Dominic's family.Making our way through the cemetery, we arrived at his graveyards minutes later, and I was particularly surprised by the sight of a familiar face kneeling before his grave."Maria?" I called and she turned around to look at us."Oh hey!" She said getting up to her feet and wiping the tears in her eyes. She rushed to engulf me in a warm hug and we remained in that position for some time."What are you doing here?" I asked the moment we broke free from the hug."I came to drop some flowers at his grave," Maria revealed with teary eyes. I couldn't make up the reasons for her tears; they didn't make any sense to me."I know it sounds ridiculous after everything he has put me through, but then I have a confession to
