Hera POV I am starting to get pissed by his stubbornness. I love torturing information out of a fuckers mouth if they try to act tough but today is not a good day. I don't have the patience for that.“ Listen here, Jace. Let's not make things ugly because you don't want to sing in my hands. I can promise you I can transform into a devil when annoyed. Don't push me.” I advise him.Jace obviously trembles, fear painting his face.“I got codes. I’m no snitch.” he breathes out.I laugh, cold and loud, the sound echoing. “Codes? Those so-called codes and loyalty will not save your ass when I get started with you. Screw them codes and tell me what I want to hear. I might get lenient and give you a fast one.” I say with a smile that doesn't reach my eyes.“ You are going to kill me?” Jace asks,as if he is surprised I will. I mean, what was he expecting? That he is here for a casual talk? I am offended he thought that he could get to keep his pathetic life after seeing my face and learning a

Hera POV I am woken up by the insistent ringing of my phone. With a groan,I reach for the device by the bedside table and answer the call immediately." I got it,MG. I got the information you asked for." Justin's voice blares through the speaker." About Snake?" I ask, suddenly sitting up. The sudden movement sends pain jolting to my wound and I wince in pain." What's wrong, Hera. Is your injury acting up?" Justin asks, worry filled in his voice." No. I just have a bad headache." I lie. I can't tell the truth otherwise I might never hear the end of how I should have stayed at the hospital and not forced an exit yesterday." Did you have too much to drink yesterday?" Justin asks and I fight the urge to roll my eyes." I can take care of myself, Justin. Tell me about Snake." I reply." Snake? Who mentioned Snake?" Justin wonders out loud. From where I am seated,I can already imagine a frown on his face and pursed lips." Didn't you say you have the information I asked you about?" I an

Mason povI stare at Hera without blinking. A myriad of emotions swirl inside me and for a minute or longer, I don't know how to react or say after what she just informed me. " Say something, will you? " Hera frowns, probably confused with my reaction. I take a deep breath then let out a heavy sigh. " I don't know what to say, Hera. I am afraid this is all we dream and I'll wake up and... " I trail off, unwilling to even finish my sentence.Hera takes a deep breath and says, " It is fine. Take your time to process it. I know how you must feel right now.""But I expected you to be happy. " She adds with a pout. " I am happy, Hera. You don't know how happy I am. My sister has been missing for years and it was all my fault she was lost in that hurricane. If it's true that Nyx is my sister, then I have the chance to redeem myself. To fix my biggest regret in life. I am not sure how I will react when I see her. Happy or scared. Will she even remember me? What if she is not my sister? Th

Hera POV I step inside my office followed by Nyx. I texted her earlier to meet here. I want to hear what the current situation with Zero. Considering the delicacy of our current situation,I can't discuss such details over the phone. Who knows if someone is tapping on our conversation. Although Justin makes sure that no one bypasses that security protocol,it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't want my meticulous plan to trap Snake to bite me in the ass." How far is Justin?" I ask, settling on my chair. Nyx walks to the sofa opposite my table and sits down." He said he's almost here." she answers, leaning back on the sofa. She looks tired, probably from keeping an eye on Snake." You didn't get to rest, right? Go home and get some sleep. Sulphur can handle the task. You two can take turns on the job," I offer, but Nyx shakes her head." It's dangerous to have her do that alone. Hera, that guy is not a saint." Nyx replies, sighing." If he dares lay a hand on her, I'll kill him."

Hera POV Victor's words make my anger flare.“ How did you know that he abandoned his ex-wife? Is that what she told you as you guys planned to take Mason down?” I ask before I can stop myself.Victor’s eyes narrow at me and for a moment,I see something flicker in his eyes. Linda on the other hand gets triggered by my words.“ What are you trying to insinuate, you fat bitch!” She yells, her eyes boring holes on my face. I sneer.“ I am a fat loyal bitch. What about you? You willingly allowed these bastards to use your daughter’s life as a bait? What kind of a mother are you? Mason was right, you don't deserve to be a mother.” If she thinks calling me a fat bitch is going to soil my mood, then she perhaps doesn't know me.I have heard that word for more than I can account for. I stopped feeling insecure with my body and learnt to appreciate that I am different.“ Do you honestly think you'll be safe after Mason is down? You think they'll let you live? Linda, why are you so stupid and gu
