Alora POVThe loud banging on my door jolts me awake. I scramble from my uncomfortable bed, shoving down my clothes hastily.“ How dare you sleep at this time? A slap resounds in the room, my head turning to the other side.“ How dare you,wh*re! How dare you seduce your sister's fiance?” My mother hisses,glaring at me.Leah stands next to her,casting a hateful glance at me.My tears roll down but I remain tight-lipped. The door to my room is pushed open and Leah saunters in. Her gaze sweeps through the crumpled space and her nose lifts in disgust.I scan her appearance through the cracked vanity mirror.When she turns to look at me, she has a smile on her face, one that I wouldn't mistake as friendly.“ I came to see if you needed anything. Alonso POVI am brooding over a document my beta gave to me the previous day when I hear a timid knock on the door. The knock jolts me from my thoughts and I am not even aware when I let out an angry growl and knock over the glass cup of water on my table, and I watch as the glass hits the ground and shatters everywhere as if to equate my anger.The documents I was studying before the knock came are the documents of territory land ownership from the Young Moon pack. CHAPTER 6

Soon we are in the car for the long drive to the Midnight pack. When the car starts slowing down, I look out of the window and I can tell that we are almost at our destination. I start drumming on the seat anxiously and I catch Beta Leo staring at me. Although he is quiet I can tell that there are a lot of things you want to say. But thank the goddess he is not talking, the last thing I need is for anyone to talk around me. He still sits in silence even though he knows that we have gotten to our destination. Maybe he is silent because he is not ready to face me or he can sense my simmering discomfortI decide to stare out of the window instead. The pack house is beautiful. Decorated everywhere was different colours of light to add to the celebration. Leah’s POV“Announcing the arrival of Alpha…”I roll my eyes immediately when I hear the title Alpha. A lot of dignitaries are here and they are either Alphas, Betas or their entourage. I am tired of see boring people parade in with false bravado as the announcer screams their names in the microphone“Alpha Alonso, the King of the Alistair Kingdom…”My eyes shoot open as I hear the Kingdom. King Alonso!? I have been waiting all night for his arrival. So why did the announcer address him as Alpha instead of King? This is one common mistake a lot of pack members make- addressing the Lycan King as Alpha. I hear even the Lycams make this same mistake often and this irritates me every timeOh well, that aside- the King is hereOh my goddess, my wolf is so excited. She is yelping so much. What if I get mated to the Lycan king. My father would be so proud of me. If our pack comes in alliance with the Alistair Kingdom, we would be the greatest pack ever and I would even get to be his queen.

Alonso’s POVMy patience is running dangerously thin. I have endured enough of this insufferable evening. The crowd is suffocating, the girls are suffocating, the smell of desperation is everywhere in the air. My beast is agitating already and if I don't take care it would start controlling me. I am frustrated. My eyes scan the ground hall frantically.I am practically searching for a new hiding spot. Anywhere dark, anywhere quiet, anywhere that is far away from the relentless voices and the wandering eyes of the hungry girls around here. I move swiftly but carefully in the crowd. I try to avoid any girl coming close to me. “King Alonso,” one of the two bulky looking guards is in my front with a stern face. I let out a low growl at their approach, and I match their energy with my own firm authority“We need to ask you a few questions,” he continues, his eyes darting between mine and the body of the girl in my hands“I'm in a hurry, so be quick,” I snarled“Fine, fine,” the first guard steps aside for the other to continue“Who is the girl, why is she unconscious and alone with you?” the second guard is speaking as he keeps looking at Alora’s weak body.I feel my beast snarl, but I control it almost immediately. “She was drugged at your Alpha's ball.
