บททั้งหมดของ The Missing Beta: บทที่ 31 - บทที่ 40

I walk through the front door, surprised to see my Dad at home. Since he’s the current Beta and is training Dominic to take over, I expected his days to be spent in the packhouse. I watch my Dad walk into the kitchen and wrap my Mom up in his arms. They kiss tenderly, and my heart soars. I was afraid that reliving the past surrounding Topaz would throw them off, so it’s good to see that they are still my loving parents. “You know, you watching us is pretty creepy.” I chuckle and walk forward, sitting at the table.“Sorry, I’m just happy to see you two together like that.”It makes a son happy to see his loving parents. Mom gasps, covering her mouth with her hands as she steps back from Dad. Dad’s eyes get big as he stares at me.“Yo… you got Dario back?!” I let my grin grow and nod my head. Mom runs to me, throwing her arms around me. I embrace her back, feeling more like myself than I had since I’ve been here. Dad walks over and pats my back. “I’m so happy for you.”“We are finally a

~King~I push through the brush, determined to deal with this quickly so I can get back to Katarina. I don’t know where her boldness comes from, but I don’t like it. I need to get her to remember how things should be. The wedding is coming up quickly, and I need everything in place before that.I’m trying to figure out how to keep Aston away from my girl. Obviously, I can’t do anything in actuality since he just got back. Everyone would be aware if anything were to happen to him, so that wouldn’t work. It isn’t that I plan to do anything to him; I’m just going through all possibilities. It isn’t that I don’t trust Katarina because I do. She’s always been trustworthy, no matter how many men eye her throughout the day. It’s the fact that Aston and Katarina have history, and I don’t want that history to repeat itself. I know he was mated to her in the past, but I have to believe that connection is no more. He hasn’t claimed her, so I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. Still, on

~Aston~It’s been a few days, and I can’t get Katarina off my mind. The evening was perfect, and I was tempted to tell her about our bond so many times. I just couldn’t do it; I couldn’t rock her world that way. It’s crazy, right? Why wouldn’t I just tell her who we are to each other, right? I know it’s the question everyone has on the tip of their tongues. Hell, it’s the question I have for myself sometimes. The truth of the matter is that I have no idea who King really is.Yeah, sure. I’ve known him all my life. I was gone for four years, and a lot can happen in that time. What if I tell her, and it causes her issues? What if I tell her and she doesn’t believe me? What if I tell her and she doesn’t want me?As far as I can tell, she doesn’t feel anything on her side. There’s no mate bond, and there are no sparks. I can’t handle telling her and the entire situation falling flat on its face. Call me a coward; I’ll take that. I’d rather have her like this than not have her at all.Flas

~Katarina~I feel….I feel sick. I feel…I’m confused. The air is thinning out, and I feel like I can’t breathe. I hurry out of the office, stopping right outside of the door. I look to the left and see Luna Trina with her people. They are facing me, but I can’t deal with them right now. I turn to my right and hurry away. I bound down the stairs, surprised I didn’t fall and crack my skull. I can’t see anything clearly, and I think I’m starting to hyperventilate.I stumble out the front door and fall on the grass. I take huge gulps of air in and shakily let them out. I can’t believe this; it can’t be right. This isn’t true, is it? Calm down, Katarina. We are okay. Are we? Are we really okay? You just claimed a mate, and it isn’t our fiancèe. What the fuck is going on? I know what I smelled. I know who our mate is, and I’m not wrong. It can’t be. Why didn’t we know it sooner?I don’t know, but it’s true. We have to see him. I guess Hope’s right. We won’t know; well, I won’t know for sur

~Third Person~The air becomes thick with arousal as the mates look at each other. The only sounds in the room are their heavy breathing and the thumping of their hearts. Neither of them ever expected to be in this position, so they are a bit hesitant to proceed. The passion and desire are there and evident, but they don’t really know how to begin.Aston gulps and pulls Katarina against his body. He lets her heat seep into his skin before he bends his head and places his mouth on her neck. He lets his tongue peek out and runs it in a circle over her skin. He uses his teeth to nibble on the soft skin, allowing his mouth to begin sucking motions. She will probably have hickeys when he’s done, but neither is worried about that right now.Katarina’s breasts are pressed against Aston’s body, her nipples becoming hard peaks. She moans at the sensation on her neck and grinds her pelvis against Aston’s body. Katarina has dreamt of this moment for so many years. It took her a while to let that
