Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Richest Man in Metropolis is My Backer!: Kabanata 91 - Kabanata 100

I could feel my face cracking even more. A drunken person's vomit had to be the most disgusting thing anyone could deal with. It stank like hell. But I had made a refined young man of high prestige deal with my disgusting mess!No wonder the trash bin was clean and odorless the next morning. He had already cleaned it up for me."I knew I'd forgotten it by the time I was home, but I didn't call because I wouldn't dare bother you," Soren explained, seemingly oblivious to my embarrassment. "I'm sorry to have troubled you over it."Something in his words caught my attention."You... wouldn't dare call me?" I asked aloud. He smiled sheepishly. "I thought you'd think I left it behind to make up an excuse to contact you again. Well, it seemed like you misunderstood something about me a while ago, and it caused our relationship to become rather distant. I've been trying to honor that distance ever since."I stared at him in disbelief. Why would Soren care this much? He was supposed to

I hadn't expected Soren to know as well.It made me feel even more embarrassed. I had lied to Edward about us having sex "many times!" Just thinking about it left me tongue-tied in the real world."He… He, uh, refuses to divorce me. I have to resort to suing him. The trial starts in June," I said hurriedly, looking away."That's more than half a month left."I sighed. "I know! But the court chose the date. I have no say in it.""Hey, you've got time," Soren comforted me. "But do you know they almost always go for mediation instead of a divorce verdict in the first session? You'll probably have to sue him again after about six months to get an actual divorce.""I know. My lawyer told me as much. It's going to be a long fight," I said.I'd have to wait at least six months before I was legally divorced! As he nodded, the elevator stopped. We stepped out together.Soren's driver was already waiting at the entrance.I waved. "Goodbye, Mr. Kenway."He turned to me as Michael opene

I twirled before the mirror, pleased with my reflection. My phone rang. It was Soren!"Hi, Mr. Kenway!""Hi, Taylor. The driver will arrive in ten minutes, okay?""Got it. I've just finished getting ready," I replied cheerfully. "Sorry to trouble you with arranging transportation.""It's no trouble at all. The winding, mountainous roads of Beaumont aren't safe to drive at night. Since I invited you to this party, your safety is my responsibility too."As always, he was considerate and exceptionally mindful. After the call, I applied a touch of lipstick and powdered my face before heading out.-During the ride, my heart raced with excitement.Nerves and anticipation blended together, and I forgot all about my earlier fears and anxieties—about showing up at their residence, or whatever motives they might have.I just wanted to see what life was like for these super-elites and to expand my horizons.I wanted to see Soren.Fine, maybe I could also bag a potential VIP client o

"How will you go about it?" Soren asked."Well, I'll just tell him we didn't have sex," I replied."You mean you'd make him think I asked a young lady to explain these things on my behalf? That makes me look like a coward…""Oh." I buried my face in my hands, consumed by shame. "What are we gonna do?!"Just as the two of us were trying to figure it out, a voice called out, "They told me you went out to personally greet one of the guests, Soren. I was curious to see who the lucky woman might be!"A grimace crept across Soren's face."Oh, great. Speak of the devil," he muttered under his breath.I stiffened. Richard?!I didn't know him before this moment. For one, the Rockefellers were on par with the Kenways in terms of status, which placed them far above the Jones family. Our paths rarely crossed.Secondly, most of my friends were women.Soren turned and gestured politely toward him. "This is the owner of RF 6688, Richard Rockefeller. Ritchie, this is…"Richard studied me, a

I really didn't want to talk to Edward's family, but out of civility, I smiled and greeted, "Hi, Mrs. Kennedy.""Have you really hooked up with Mr. Kenway, as they say? Does he know you've been divorced? It's so unbecoming and unfit for him!" Sally questioned."Divorced? She's not even there yet! She's legally still Edward's civil partner! That makes all of this an affair!" Edith snapped, pouting angrily."Why does Mr. Kenway even have eyes for her? External beauty is all she has, anyway!" she growled.Me, committing a "marital affair?" God, they sure made things up on the fly."Have you heard of this thing called 'the brain?' You're not supposed to just own it—you're supposed to use it too," I retorted. "For example, you can easily ask anyone in this hall who had the affair first. Go on, I'll wait."Edith wasn't the wittiest. She stammered.Sally, however, was more experienced and clear-headed. "I know Ed has made mistakes, but you shouldn't be making an even more ridiculous on
