Chapter 61 Freya's POV It was the first time Michael ever admitted that I was beautiful. But then, I was still going to wear Bella's dress. I felt honored to see his deceased sister in me. For a moment, I shared in Michael's tears, wishing I had laid my eyes on Bella. Five years ago, when Ambrose and I were happily in love, Michael was crying his eyes out. And then, I wondered. Ambrose never felt moody, nor did he act like he was mourning. He had prevented me from knowing any members of his family. But then, that was the period Bella died, the period he told me he had a business trip with Grandpa but somehow returned saying it was cancelled. Besides, I'd seen Bella's bracelet in his playroom also. And when I heard about the 6 pm schedule of his, I became uneasy since then because, from five years ago, I wondered why he still had a 6 pm schedule that never ended. A schedule no one knew about. Maybe this was going to be a way of getting his weakness and using it against him. So

Chapter 63Ambrose's POV"Oh, I guess you're wondering how I got to know about them," Freya said teasingly, her voice low, and I knew at once that she had become a threat to me. There was no way I was going to let her get away with this. Something had to be done. I dragged her over to a more quiet place."What the hell do you mean by those words? You could be arrested for false accusations. Do you think these are a way to make me let my guard down and probably tremble in fear?" I asked, moving close to her as I held her firmly by the arm. She struggled to break free, but my grip was tighter."You don't know what the hell happened that night. The fact that Michael had told you everything doesn't guarantee that he's right. You clearly don't know who Michael is," I said, thinking of the next action to take.Freya smiled, without a hint of fear in her. "Then what exactly happened five years ago? Why did you suddenly return five years ago without attending the trip with Grandpa? And what

Chapter 65Michael's POVSix weeks later...My love for Freya had grown, even though I still reminded myself that she was going to leave anyway in less than three months' time. Waylen had grown closer to Freya, and the adoption process was going to be successful in a few days' time. I kept wondering why Ambrose never fought for his son. Instead, he had remained quiet for the past weeks."Hey, man. Aren't you leaving for the event center?" Jason asked, the first words he had uttered after suddenly barging into my office. I never had any intention of scolding him. Today was a very wonderful day for me. Over the past weeks, Jason, including Freya, had helped the company with their efficiency, and somehow, I had regained all that I had lost."Hey, you have a smile on your face. You wanna share?" I raised an eyebrow at him, picking my new pair of glasses, which was resting firmly on the company's desk."C'mon, I know it's probably Freya. You've been this way since...""Come on, enough of F

Chapter 67Freya's POVThe sudden photos of Ambrose and I left me stunned. They were pictures that I alone had kept in my safe box. I could remember how I wanted to get rid of them countless times, but somehow, my mother had urged me to keep them, in case my son demanded proof before accepting me as his mom.But then, why did the pictures from my closet become revealed to the press? There was no way my mom, Naomi, could do this. But then, I couldn't bear to see Michael this way as I kept mute, not finding suitable words to say."Is Waylen your son?" a reporter asked. And I knew I couldn't run from this question. Waylen was my weakness. I'd always prayed to reveal our relationship to the world, but why did it hurt this way?I could see Michael's trust for me, but then, I couldn't forgive myself for hiding the truth from him this much."Michael, I..." I called,"I trusted you, Freya," he said, as the words cut through my heart."She's a whore," some of the people who had gathered began

Chapter 69Freya's POVI already had my body covered with eggs as everyone fought to make a video of me. "Fuck you, whore! Gold digger!" they had called me. I couldn't contact anyone through my cellphone as I wandered around the city, looking terrible. The pain I was feeling within was far more than the eggs and objects that were being thrown at me. I could remember the look Michael had given me, and I knew he would never forgive me for everything."Michael," I whispered, as I used the last strength in me to place a knock on the door."My child," my mother called in a broken voice. Her expression probably revealed that she must have heard about everything. But then, I wondered how she knew; my mother never listened to the news nor used a big mobile phone."Mum," I called, forcing a smile, trying to be happy."My child, you can cry it out, baby. I know everything that happened, baby girl.""Mom," I cried, hugging her tightly. "It hurts so much, Mother. Michael... Michael.""Shh... save
