Lahat ng Kabanata ng Mated to My New Stepbrother : Kabanata 51 - Kabanata 60

Freya’s povI sat down at the table, my partner Alpha Remy joining me. It had only been officially a week since we announced that we'd be running the pack together – just one short week, and I was exhausted. The dining room was quiet again. Empty except for us two. My daughters Jamie and Mira refused to join us once more. I didn't blame them. Tension had been building.I looked over at Remy. He was eating slowly, staring at his plate. I waited three seconds and said, “So? What’s do you think?”Remy took another bite of food, wiped his mouth with a napkin then glanced in my direction.“What do I think?“ he asked. “Yes. About the pack. About how we’re handling things. Do you think we should do something about it?”He inhaled deeply.“I think… your pack needs to change a lot,” he said, plain and cold.I paused, blinking. “What?”“It’s the truth.”“You can’t be serious.”“What did I say? My pack is doing pretty fine. They are disciplined. Civilized. Organized. Your pack is… not that.”I

Mira’s povI was in the arcade with Zane again. That place was so bright, and the games were so loud with kids running all over the place. It was really noisy in there but I didn't care. I liked anything that would make me forget about Kayden.Zane was playing on one of the shooting games. Her smile was evil as she focused on the fun she was having.‘I met a boy yesterday,’ she said, still staring at the screen.“Oh,” I smiled. That was quick. Was she supposed to have moved on so fast from Cameron?“He was tall. Cute too. And guess what? He said I have nice eyes.” she laughed it off.I smiled a little, but my heart wasn’t in it.Zane paused the game and turned to me. “Hey. You’re not listening.”“Yes, I am,” I said. But I wasn’t.“Mira, what the fuck? You’ve been acting weird since we got here.”I looked at her then quickly turned away, “It's nothing.” “Look,” she said again, this time softer. “Tell me what’s wrong?”“I mean… I don’t know.” I sighed. “Is this about Lucas?” She asked

Lucas’s povThe wind was gentle on my face as I rode slowly through the palace gardens. The sun was warm in the morning sky and everything smelled so clean of flowers and dewy grass. I looked across to my side… she was also riding beside me… her long hair swayed with the horse’s steps. She looked calm but I knew she wasn’t.I slowed my horse a little to get closer to her. She sensed it and smiled faintly.I turned my face towards her and asked, “What do you feel now your stepfather has gone. What has changed?”She laughed a little bit. It wasn’t really a laugh though, it was more like just air coming out of her lungs. “He was never technically my stepdad,” she said quietly. “But he was pretty close.”Her voice sounded steady but for some reason it made me feel like she wasn’t.“Do you… miss him?” I asked as I wondered what her answer would be.“How about we don’t talk about him?”I nodded. “Alright.” I paused, then smiled at her. “Let’s change the subject then.”“To what?”I chuckled

Kayden’s povI sat on the bed and stared at my phone for I don’t know how long after I ended the call with Mira. My chest felt heavy, my head was full. That call… it felt weird. I didn’t know what she really meant. She’d called to find out if my father would cancel the wedding. I’d told her that I didn’t know, because really, I didn’t have a clue about what was going on between my father and her mother. But in all honesty, from somewhere deep inside of me, I wished. Oh, how I wished things had changed. How they were not going to be mates anymore. Maybe – just maybe – if they weren’t together any longer, then me and Mira could start being enough for each other again. I stood up, walked a few paces to the window to look outside. I loved the night sky with the stars blinking there.I was about to think hard when a knock shattered my thoughts. I spun around. “Enter,” I said. And the door did open, and it was him—Doran, the soldier who tutored me. He strode in with his muscular arms fold

Lucas’s POVI drove back to the mansion as my hands held the steering wheel in a tight way.I was angry with what had happened a few minutes ago, but I was going to keep my cool and tell my father all that had happened. The moment I got out of the car and slammed the door shut, I heard my father's voice from the living room. He was yelling in anger.“You think you can tell me how to handle this? You’re not even part of this pack anymore!” he yelled.I walked into the house slowly. I saw him standing in the middle of the living room, pointing at another elder. The elder just stood there looking tired.“Father,” I said in a small voice. He looked at me and sighed as I could see his eyes burning with fury.“You’re back,” he said. "We need to talk. Now. In private."I nodded and followed him into his room as we got in. Mother and my little sister were back in Alpha Remy’s pack, so I was stuck here with my father. He slowly sat in his bed as he ran his hands through his hair and looked at
