Aria Everything hurts.Not in that dramatic, post-fight, movie-scene kind of way. No. This hurts in a quiet, dull way. Like I’ve been lying on the wrong side of a hard floor for hours, and my limbs are trying to remember how to exist.My cheek is pressed against something cold and rough. Concrete, I think? Or maybe metal. Either way, it's not soft, and it definitely wasn’t designed for comfort. I shift slightly, and my shoulder screams. My wrists are stiff against each other. I try to move them, but they don’t budge. Something awfully tight is tied around them.My head pounds, my mouth is dry, and it’s dark in here. Not dim. Pitch black.There are no windows, and I can’t hear any sound either.Well, except the sound of me breathing. And even that feels off, shallow, and a little shaky.Where am I?What happened?I try to retrace my memory. The store. Yes. Then…cloth racks. Changing room. Smoke. Panic.
