Hey, Y'all!!!!Another note (the last one, I promise). I hope you won't mind, but it's a great way for me to communicate with you. So... THE UPDATE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IS GOING TO BE POSTPONED BY ONE DAY OR TWO. (AT LEAST). (Please, don't hate on me! Just hear me out.)The reason is very simple. Since this story is almost finished, I decided to release the last chapters all in one day. The only problem is... I'm not sure about the number of these chapters (2 or 3). No writer's block or stuff like that, don't worry. I just don't want to leave this story with holes or without a satisfactory epilogue. I'm a pantser, you see. When I start writing a story, I do it without a clear vision of how the story will end. Very often, I deviate from my initial ideas. It's a blessing and a curse, of course, but it's who I am. This is why one day you get one chapter and the next, two. With this being said... I'll get back to work. THANKS (AGAIN) FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING!XOXOEMMA.

‘Uh, this day! This fucking day!’ Liam thought that his lunch fiasco would’ve been the lowest point in this damn day… Man, he was so wrong! The moment he entered his apartment, the moment he heard Maxima’s trembling voice coming from the bathroom, an eerie sensation took over his entire being. Like the apocalypse was about to come and strike hard… After he left the restaurant, Liam wandered around Manhattan for hours, thinking and rethinking various vengeance strategies, pondering every aspect of his situation. In the end, he understood one thing: he needed to go home and talk to Maxima about everything. She was the only person capable of listening carefully to everything about this shitty day, and gave him the perfect advice on how to deal with what was about to happen starting the next day. And then, there was this epiphany he had during his lunch with Howard, about his feelings for Maxima. It took one word said at the right time, and

“Well… I’ll get to that, but first, I want to tell you about my new job.”“What?” she asked, almost in shock. “You left Howard and his team? Why in the hell did you do that? Dammit, Liam! That company was perfect for you!”“Wait! Let me explain better!” Liam countered, raising his arms in a defensive pose. “I didn’t leave the company. I’d never do that. But, after that night… after what you said to me about acting like a spoiled, entitled brat… after I got over myself, I decided to embrace this new challenge. So, Eric Hall is now my mentor.”“Oh… I’m glad.” Maxima smiled and started walking again. Liam let out a low whistle and followed her.“What that guy doesn’t know about insurance isn’t worth knowing. And he’s connected like you wouldn’t believe. He’s been introducing me to some of his top clients. So, instead of feeling like I got booted to the end of the line, I’m now learning. Oh, Max… This is so fulfilling! It’s like I’m back in college again. Every day it’s exciting!

“Push, Max! That’s it! Now breathe. Okay, one more time… Breathe in deep! Hold it! Now push and count to ten.” Maxima puffed and strained, and she really did try to hold her breath, but it all came rushing out by the time she got to five. If it wasn’t for epidurals, she would have given this up already and begged for someone to knock her lights out.“You’re doing great, angel.” Liam’s voice, low and reassuring, gave her a much-needed jolt of energy. He had his arm behind her back, holding her tightly as he breathed through each contraction with her. His hand was tightly curled around hers, and Liam murmured words of encouragement in her ear in between kisses.“I’m so tired, Liam… So tired… When is he going to be here?” Maxima wailed. The nurse on her right smiled, and then the doctor looked up from between her legs.“One more push, Max, and we’ll have the head. Concentrate hard and bear down with this next contraction.” That sounded better!
