Aria's POVWhen I woke up, every part of my body hurt. It felt as if my body had been dragged through fire and hard ice at the same time. My throat was dry, my muscles heavy, and my head pounded with a severe and relentless ache.I tried to move, but my arms were too heavy for me to lift us. I rolled from one end of the bed to another, blinking against the soft sharp light Illuminating the room. I realized I was not outside anymore. The air in here smelled clean and different. Panic hit me like a jolt of lightning, and I sprung upright, my eyes bulging out of its socket. I had no choice but to ignore the sharp pain piercing through my ribs. Where am I?“Easy, sweetheart. Easy,” a deep masculine voice said, cutting through my rushed thoughts like a sharp blade.I turned sharply to the direction that the voice was coming from and my heart kept pounding severely. In front of me was a man who looked like he was in his late twenties. If I was not mistaken, he looked twenty-seven, and

Aria's POVI was standing in the middle of my village again, but everything was silent. The houses were untouched by fire, and the air was thick with the scent of rose, my mother’s favorite flower. I turned slowly and my heart skipped a bit, and there she was staring at me with a sad smile on her face. “M.mmm.Mumm…mother,” I stammered as I held back my tears. “Aria,” she said softly and her voice still sounded the same. She stood just a few feet away from me and her face was radiant and calm. Just the way I remembered her before the creatures came.“Mama,” I choked out again. This time, tears sprung to my eyes as I stumbled toward her. My hands reached for hers. I was desperate to feel her warmth again. I wanted to touch her, I wanted to feel her. I wanted to hold her. But when I reached to touch her, it was like grasping air.Her expression softened towards me and my face fell. There was a heaviness in her eyes that made my stomach twist. “It is almost time,” she said to me.

Their quarrels and arguments were meaningless yet they still kept me in the center of it all. "You’re impossible! I can't believe I'm here having this conversation with you. " Elian’s voice thundered through the room and his frustration was evident on his face. My eyes kept moving between the both of them who were about tearing down the room. "And you are worse. You think this is a kind of joke?” Thane shot back and his mouth twisted as irritation flashed across his face. I took a slow step backward, my chest tightening as their argument escalated. Their voices were becoming louder after each word and it kept on overlapping each other. As if that was not worse. It was also pushing against my ears. "At least I’m not trying to control her into choosi

Aria's POV"This is a joke, right? This has to be a joke! There is no way I'm going to take it!”I couldn't believe what was in front of me and if I didn't pinch myself, I would have sworn that I was in a dream. I stared at the table which had a lot of candles on it. A lot of food was spread elegantly at strategic corners and the silver wares gleaned under the soft golden glow of light. It looked like a mini banquet and for a second, it looked like something I didn't want to accept. My chest tightened and I felt a sharp pain digging me from within. Kieran was many things. He was arrogant, unpredictable, wicked and insufferable. But romantic? That was a first. I never saw him as a romantic man so when he prepared this dinner in front of me, I had a good laugh first He leaned against the chair opposite me, watching my reaction with a shocked reaction flashing across his face. What was he expecting? That I should jump up and squeal like a rat because of what he did for me? "Do I
