Tania walked out of the old house slowly. She kept walking as her heels clicked on the ground. Her face was calm and she didn’t look back. There was no reason to. Victoria was gone now. Tania took a deep breath and smiled a little. It was not joy. It was freedom. For a long time, Victoria had tried to rule her and make her feel small. Tania had played the role of a loyal friend. She listened, smiled, and pretended to care. But inside, she had hated her. Every single day.“She thought she was untouchable,” Tania whispered to herself. “But no one is untouchable.”She reached her car, opened the door, and got inside. The leather seat felt warm under her. She closed the door and sat still for a moment. Her hands were on the wheel, but her mind was racing. Not with fear. Fear was gone. She had crossed a line, and now there was no going back. She was not the same Tania anymore. She was in charge now.She pulled out her phone and stared at the screen. There was one number she needed to call

A single gunshot ripped through the night. Tania froze, her heart hammering. For a second, she thought it was Miguel, coming to save Ximenna. Carlos leaned against the wall, his gun steady in his hands. “You hear that?” he asked. One of Carlos’ men sprinted toward them, panic written all over his face. “Boss! There’s someone—an intruder! Armed! He’s moving toward the building!”Tania’s eyes flicked toward Ximenna. The girl was still tied to the chair, pale and trembling. A faint thrill ran through Tania’s veins. This was the moment they had waited for. Whoever it was, he would have to fight for her now.“It’s probably Miguel,” Tania muttered, her voice sharp. “If it is, let’s make this fast.” She tightened her grip on the knife in her hand, her fingers slick with Victoria’s blood.Carlos chuckled darkly. “Quick? I like quite.”Shadows shifted outside. Another gunshot cracked the air. Tania flinched but didn’t loosen her focus. Whoever it was, they needed to be stopped before they re

The car moved fast on the empty road and Tania was in the front seat, talking to the driver. They moved silently for a while until Ximenna broke the silence. “Where are you taking me?”She asked.Carlos gave a dry laugh. “You’ll know soon.”“You can’t do this,” Ximenna said. Her voice shook, but she didn’t stop. “Miguel will come for me.”Tania turned her head slightly and smiled without humour, “Miguel will be too late.”Ximenna’s chest tightened. She wanted to scream, but what good would that do? She pulled at the rope around her wrists, but Carlos noticed and yanked her arm hard.“Try that again,” he warned.Ximenna glared at him. “You’re both cowards.”Carlos slapped her across the face. Her head jerked to the side. Pain burned her cheek, but she didn’t cry. She just stared at him with fire in her eyes.“That’s enough,” Tania said sharply. “Don’t damage her face. We need her alive and useful.”Carlos leaned back, still angry. “She needs to learn respect.”“Respect?” Ximenna spat. “

Miguel stood in the middle of the safe house, His mind was racing too fast. Ximenna was out there. Tania had her. Carlos had his own part in this. And Diego… Diego was in the hospital, bleeding, fighting for his life.Luis stepped forward. “Boss, we have the lists of everyone working with them. Men, cars, hideouts. We can move fast if you want.”Miguel didn’t answer at first. He looked at the map. A city full of streets, alleys, and abandoned buildings. Every corner could hide an enemy. Every step could cost Ximenna her life. Finally, he spoke. “We move carefully. No mistakes. We don’t just take back Ximenna. We take down everyone standing with Tania and Carlos. Start with the informants. I want to know everything about their hideouts.”Luis nodded. “Already done. Some men are watching their usual spots. Some of Carlos’s contacts are nervous. They’re talking.”Miguel didn’t smile. He didn’t need to. “Good. Keep watching. And get me the routes they use to move her. If we can track thei

Miguel leaned against the wall outside the hospital. He had been driving all night, thinking about Ximenna and about what had just happened. His stomach ached, but he knew he could not act recklessly. First, he needed to see Diego.Diego had been shot badly during the chaos. Miguel had brought him here, to the hospital, and now he had to make sure his friend stayed alive. He pushed open the hospital door and walked quickly to the front desk. “Diego Alvarez. Room seven. How is he?”The nurse looked at him with tired eyes. “He’s stable, but critical. You can see him, but only for a short time.”Miguel nodded. “Thank you.” He hurried down the corridor, each step heavy in his mind. The images of last night kept replaying—the gunshots, the cars, the black SUVs. And Victor Alvarez… he could feel the cold danger even now. When he entered the ICU, he saw Diego lying on the bed. Tubes ran into his arms, and a mask covered his face. He was pale, but alive. Miguel pulled a chair close to the bed
