Iris’s POVI looked in all directions carefully, making sure no one was paying special or suspicious attention to me. And Gary wasn’t following me.And when I was certain that everyone else just minded their business like I was doing, I slipped out the exit door on the East wing of the courtroom.I had seen Gary move towards Damon after I’d brazenly asked him if he would go into the bathroom with me, so I was sure they wouldn’t notice I was gone until much later.The resolve to escape from Damon had grown stronger after they had put on a display of tricks and lies during the trial session, rubbing salt into my somewhat healing injury. Iris’s POV“How much longer until we get there?”I was getting overstimulated now, having sat for more than an hour, strapped to this seat.“It’s funny that’s the first thing you say after long minutes of silence,” Luca said, scoffing.I sighed, throwing my head to the side of the window. “Well, what else am I supposed to say, then?”“I asked you a question earlier,” he said, keeping his eyes on the road. “I asked if you don’t think it’s sad?”“What’s sad?”He rolled his eyes then, shaking his head. “The girl and butterfly story. Didn’t you get it?”I’m trying not to get it…would that be a good answer?“I have more important things to worry about, Luca, so please if you don’t mind, we should focus on getting to the port. Iris’s POV“Do you know what you’re asking for?”He was gazing down at me with passion-heavy eyes, running his thumb feverishly across my bottom lip.“I don’t,” I whispered through slightly parted lips, “that’s why I’m asking you to show me.”Who was this girl?!
