Isabella was unconscious for days. She drifted in and out of consciousness, most times sobbing in pain, other times muttering incoherently. Doctor Emilio said it was because of the fever. She had nightmares, the type that would make her scream in her sleep, thrashing in bed. The maids took turns in giving her sponge baths and changing her clothes.
