The three of us arrived at the racecourse and saw the witch doctor Galeis had hired. The witch doctor first checked the head wound that had brought about my three-day coma before he prescribed me a strange potion. He said, “Drink it, and you will recover your memories.” I took it and saw the excited and eager look on Galeis’s face. Meanwhile, Leonore was filled with despair, panic, and fear. I lifted my hand up and threw the potion on the ground. The witch doctor was stunned. So were Galeis and Leonore. I turned to Galeis and glared at him. “I already made my decision a long time ago, Galeis.” “Selena?” He looked at me in confusion and fear. “I never lost my memories.” Those words were like a battering ram that struck their hearts.
