Noticing Julius' grim expression, Marisol set her phone aside, her face turning serious. "What is it?" she asked. Julius pulled out his phone and handed it over. He had recorded the conversation he overheard earlier. Though the audio was muffled, the crucial details came through. "Marisol, listen to this," he said. Marisol hit play, confusion flickering across her face. As the recording ended, comprehension dawned on her. "You ran into Amara?" she inquired with her brows knitted. Julius nodded obediently. "I saw her sneaking off to make a call, and it struck me as odd. Nathan hasn't bothered you for years, yet he shows up right when Nevaeh returns. It didn't sit right with me, so I followed her and heard all this." He had thought long before deciding to tell Marisol. Yet, he deliberately left Lucian out of the story, steering the attention toward the Sorensens instead. He wanted no loose ends pointing back to him. Over the years, he had come to understand Marisol well.
