I WAS NOTHING TO YOU

(ALEXA'S POV)Carefully tying Luke’s oversized coat around my torn dress, I climbed the stairs to the third floor. I pushed open the door to Room 58 and froze. Cole sat next to a laptop, his face looking better and shaved, completely different from the last time I had seen him, Linsley stood beside him tapping her foot anxiously."What is this…." I asked, but Linsley was next to me in a second, pressing a hand over my mouth. She pointed urgently at the laptop screen, where a message was now typed out. 'There is a meeting next door. A slight sound could get us in trouble.’ the message read. They had bored a tiny hole through the wall and connected various machines to it. Cole adjusted whatever he was typing and the screen flickered to life. I saw the members of the Orchid gathered next door. Garary sat laid back in a chair at the back, while Luke stood at the head."Can you begin?" Garary ordered.Luke let out a mocking laugh. "I think our leader should lead this meeting. Don't you thi

WHEN TOMORROW CAME

(ALEXA'S POV)“Lala.” I breathed her name into the quiet night. She smiled, and in that moment, everything I have been carrying came crashing down. I threw myself in her arms, nothing mattered anymore, not even who I suspected she truly was. I held her tight, my body trembling against hers.“Alexa, Alexa, it’s okay.” She murmured against my ear, trying to calm me down. “Let’s go home,” pulling me to follow her.I allowed her to guide me, my spirit was beyond broken, I was ready to get a taste of my old life, even if it meant living a lie for the rest of my days.Throughout the drive, I clung to her tightly. She began to hum, then sing, the soft lullaby I used to sing to her and Brandon back in the days. In that moment I realized just how much I had lost. However, the fairy tale came to an end when we finally stopped in front of a very familiar mansion. It faced me like a beautiful cage. I looked at her, searching for any sign of remorse, but all she offered me a simple nod. With tears

FORGET ME OR REMEMBER ME

(ALEXA'S POV) I opened my eyes and was blinded by the bright lights, I rubbed my eyes furiously trying to see, I tried to speak but my throat was dry and raw. I tried to stand, struggling to rise from the bed, a hand pushed me down and a glass of water was pressed into my trembling hands. I looked up and even in my slightly blurry mind, I knew what it meant to be looking at Garary. He stood by the bedside quietly observing me."You are awake, honey," he murmured, his voice soft but the affection seemed practiced. “You scared me.” He said softly. I looked around in a panic, my heart racing, what was going on? Then I spotted Linsley in the corner, and a wave of relief washed over me. I had a feeling she was behind this. I still didn’t know what she wanted, but at least with her here, I could keep my memories.I pulled away in fake fear, my voice trembling "Who... are you? Where am I? Why are the lights so bright?" Where is mum? I replied in panic.Garary looked around, genuinely confu

TRUSTING THE ENEMY

(ALEXA'S POV)“No…… that can't be true,” I screamed like a mad woman as I watched them walk away. The second the door clicked shut, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. But I couldn't relax. My gut told me someone was still watching. So I did the only thing that made sense. I buried my face in a pillow and sobbed like I was mourning a lost lover. But I wasn’t crying for a lover. I was grieving my options. I couldn’t stay here, neither could Klaus. I needed a way out, fast. And there was only one person I dared to trust with both our lives.I spotted a small note book on the table and picked it up. I began small but soon I was doodling, covering the entire book with random pictures, but I left a simple Dove at the edge of every paper. It was surrender, if Linsley was working with Luke for whatever reason then he must be watching. So I waited. I had made my decision, anywhere was safer than with Garary. For two days I waited as I played my part. The hospital room was tu

ALWAYS THE DOVE

(ALEXA'S POV)I woke up in panic, my heart hammering against my chest. I was once again in an unfamiliar room. The sheets coiled around my legs as I scanned every corner. Where was I? Where was Klaus? At the thought of Klaus, I panicked and swung my legs over the bed rushing to the door, but before my fingers could touch the handle, it swung open on its own. “Miss Jones. It is nice to see you again.” A woman’s voice sang in the dim light, smooth and warm. I blinked, squinting my eyes so I could see her clearly. Slowly she came into focus, and I recognized her. The makeup artist. The one who had turned me into Nombre before. So this was the plan.“Well! We meet again, I guess.” I said and she smiled. After arranging her things, she guided me to the bathroom. The hot water did little to wash away the tension in my shoulders, but it helped. I took my time, questioning if trusting Luke was a smart move. When I was finally done, she was waiting with her kit. I sat still as she work

DID WE MISUNDERSTAND?

(ALEXA'S POV)“I left the Orchid, after the white house was raided by the police and burned to the ground." I began. "But I wasn’t alone. I had your mother with me.” My voice shook as the memories became clear in my mind. “I went to the location you sent. A small house in the woods.” “But I never left an address,” he said, his face twisted in confusion. I reached out and took his hand, my thumb brushing over his fingers as I composed myself. “I know, very soon it hit me. You couldn't leave us there alone like that. It was Adak.” I swallowed hard, “The house he sent us to was on the verge of breaking down. Chloe was weak. Every morning she would wake up vomiting. We had no food, no money, and I didn’t know how to reach you. I didn’t even know if you were alive.” He looked down, his jaw tight in anger. “Then Adak arrived, that is when I realized Chloe was pregnant.” I said, my voice full of anger at the memories. “His obsession with your mother ran so deep than I had imagined, h

ANOTHER MOTHER

ALEXA'S POV)He smiled, that beautiful smile of his. “We are here,” he said, his voice gentle and welcoming. “Maybe someday I will explain everything to you.” He said dismissively as he stepped out, holding the door for me as I followed him.“When you go inside, stick to the story. You were in an accident, a stranger helped you and took you to the hospital, that's where you have been all this time.” He paused. “Also I already cleared the story with Klaus.” I nodded as something deep inside me broke once again, of course he was still married to Rachel. How stupid was I to hope for more.“Can you trust me?” he asked, his eyes searching mine. I sighed quietly, he was always confusing me.“Trust has already cost me too much.” I finally answered as I walked past him toward the door. He didn’t argue. He just nodded, and reached around me to open the door.“You are finally here,” Rachel said happily as soon as we walked through the door. She almost jumped in happiness when she saw me, b

THE SIBLING RIVALRY

(ALEXA'S POV)The days that followed were silent. I spent most of them taking care of Klaus, I grew closer to my child, Klaus was an intelligent child but just like Rachel had unknowingly said, he carried his father's traits a hundred percent. “Nombre,” Rachel called out, her voice breaking through my thoughts.Lately, she had made it her personal mission to win over Klaus. When his strong attachment to me and icy distance toward her proved unyielding, she shifted her strategy. She was determined to win me over instead, she has gone as far as buying me gifts.I stepped into the living room and froze.Sitting together were four teenagers. Michelle sat with an undeniable royal elegance but I still recognized her immediately, I always would. Her hair was up in a neat ponytail pinned with a delicate blue ribbon. She was wearing a soft white dress embroidered with tiny blue flowers, she looked breathtakingly beautiful. She was seated between two boys that were both dressed entirely in bl

CONFLICTED RELATIONS

(ALEXA'S POV)“Cousin?” Michael sneered, his voice judgemental. “As far as I recall, my father only ever had one brother. Did Dad Luke go off and father another bastard?”I stared at him down, my anger cutting right through him. “He is adopted,” I said, my voice hard and warning.Michael locked eyes with me curiously and began moving forward at an aggressive speed. Then he turned, his attention shifting to the doorway as Luke walked into the room with Adal. They looked at the room and sighed. “Dad!” Michelle called out softly. I thought she was greeting Luke but to my surprise she hurried past him and threw herself into Adal’s arms.A sharp gasp escaped in my throat, the striking resemblance suddenly clicked into place. The twins were the children the Princess of Lanka had lost fifteen years ago. I laughed softly at the realization. So Nicole had stolen those babies back then, no wonder it had been so easy for her to dump them on me to raise. I looked at Adal holding his daughter clo

I MUST GO

(ALEXA'S POV)A wave of coldness and fear ran down my spine, making me shiver.“Nombre… Nombre…” Rachel’s voice drifted in from the background, but my mind was distant.A firm tap on my shoulder pulled me back to reality. “Are you okay?” she asked.I stared at her quietly for a moment, my mind slowly piecing together where I was. Klaus and Iris were nowhere to be seen. Standing nearby was Luke, his brow furrowed as his eyes searched my face.Rachel laughed nervously to break the tension. “Sometimes she is like this,” she said. “But I still like her.” She turned back to me. “Go get me a glass of wine.”Glad for an excuse to leave, I almost ran out of the room. Just as I turned the corner, I stumbled straight into Luke’s chest. His hands caught me, wrapping around my waist tightly.“What is wrong?” he asked softly.I didn't answer, but I softly pressed my hands against his chest, trying to push him back and create some distance between us. Instead of letting go, Luke tightened his hold
