AURORA'S POV: I don’t remember falling. One moment, there was fire tearing through my veins, my bones cracking and reassembling in ways they were never meant to. The next moment, I was in darkness. Not the quiet kind, not peaceful. This darkness is hungry, wild, full of sound. My heartbeat pounds like a drum against my skull, but it’s not just mine I hear. The forest is alive around me, whispering in a language I only now realize I can understand. Something growls low in my throat. The sound feels foreign.I try to open my eyes, but the light stabs like knives, and I let them flutter shut again. Everything smells too much - dirt, leaves, dew, blood. My muscles twitch, still humming with power, but my body feels alien, huge, heavy and wrong. What happened to me? Leaves rustle nearby. Panic claws at my chest and I let out a snarl before I can stop it. Not a scream. A snarl. My body stiffens. Something is wrong. I remember pain. Heat. Voices calling my name. Then nothing.
