Dorian POV My father called me into his office about an hour before the end of the workday. I knew it was something important the second his assistant told me. My father didn’t usually call people into his office that late unless it actually mattered. I walked in. He was standing by the window, looking down at the city, his hands in his pockets as he stood probably thinking about something serious. “Sit down,” he said, without turning around. I sat. He finally turned and looked at me. “Tonight’s dinner is the most important meeting we’ve had in months.” “Okay,” I said. “I know it’s important. You already told me that yesterday.” “I don’t think you understand how important.” He walked over and sat down across from me, leaning forward slightly. “This international investment company has been considering a partnership with us for almost a year now. If tonight goes well, I’m putting you in charge of the entire project.” I blinked. “The entire project?” “Yes,” he repeated. “It wou

Nadia POV Priya showed up at my apartment around seven that evening, carrying a thick leather folder stuffed so full of paper that it barely closed properly. In her other hand was a bottle of wine. The second I opened the door, she held the bottle up like a trophy and grinned at me. “This,” she announced, “is for after the paperwork. Nobody on this earth deserves to drink before reading legal documents. That’s just basic self respect.” I laughed and stepped back to let her in. “Good to know your priorities are perfectly in order.” “They always are.” The moment she walked through my door, her attention shifted somewhere else entirely. Past me. Straight toward the studio room. She didn’t even take off her coat. She just walked right past me, folder and wine bottle still in her hands, and headed directly into the room like she already knew every corner of my apartment. I smiled and followed her. Priya walked slowly around my studio, taking her time with every single corner of i

Nadia POV I had been staring at the “Post” button for two whole weeks. I’m not exaggerating. Two actual weeks. I changed the caption probably twenty times. Edited the photos, then edited them again, then decided I hated the editing and started completely over. I retook the photographs three separate times, moving the lighting around my studio like I was running some kind of professional shoot instead of just trying to take a decent picture of a dress on a hanger. I changed the hashtags. Deleted them. Added different ones. Deleted those too. Nothing ever felt perfect. I sat on my couch that morning with my phone in my hand, scrolling through the same edited photo for what felt like the hundredth time, when I suddenly remembered something Priya had said to me during one of our conversations. “Done is better than perfect. You can’t build a brand nobody has seen.” I took one deep breath. I clicked Post. And immediately, instantly, completely regretted it. I threw my phone onto t

Nadia POV Three months had passed since the night I sat crying on my kitchen floor over a stranger sharing my post. Three months. It honestly felt like much longer than that, when I really thought about it. So much had happened in such a short amount of time that the woman who sat on that kitchen floor felt almost like a different person entirely. More like someone I used to know, rather than someone I actually was. My brand had grown faster than I ever let myself imagine, even in my most hopeful moments. I was no longer working out of a converted bedroom, surrounded by piles of fabric and threads stuck to every surface in my apartment. Now I had a proper studio space, occupying an entire floor of a building downtown, with a small but very real team working under me. It wasn’t a huge fashion house yet, nowhere close to that. But it was mine. Built from absolutely nothing but a sketchbook, a stubborn refusal to disappear, and Priya’s endless list of connections that seemed to multip

Dorian POV I arrived at the office a little later than usual that morning. Traffic had been bad, the kind of bad that made me grip the steering wheel a little tighter than necessary, and by the time I walked through the front doors of Hargrove Holdings, I already felt like the day had started off on the wrong foot. I didn’t expect it to get worse. The first thing I noticed was the whispering. Employees clustered in small groups near the elevators, talking quietly, glancing at their phones, then glancing back up at each other. I assumed it was something about work. A new deal closing, maybe, or some internal announcement that hadn’t reached me yet. I didn’t think much of it at first. I walked past the break room on my way to my office, my mind already running through the meetings I had scheduled for the morning, when fragments of a conversation reached me and stopped me completely mid-step. A handful of employees were gathered near the coffee machine, talking about a showcase th
