Diane’s POVAs the saying goes, desperate times call for desperate measures, and I am one very desperate woman.Since Nathan has refused to grant me an audience and has also ignored every single effort I've made to reach out to him, I have no other choice but to pull the stunt I just pulled with the gun, and, of course, it worked.Standing there in front of his residence, under the sweltering sun, sweating profusely and making a caricature of myself wasn't in the least bit easy, but a girl's gotta do. I'm trying to secure my future, after all.“What the hell, Diane?” Nathan utters incredulously as he inspects the fake gun in his hand.“What?”“This isn’t a real gun.”“Isn't it?”“Come on, stop doing that.” He says in exasperation, turning the fake gun over and over in his hand and inspecting it very closely, as though that would somehow turn it into a real one.“Stop doing what?”“Stop throwing questions back at me instead of answering the ones I ask you.”“Okay,” I say.I can see tha

DIANE’S POVWell, that went much better than I expected. I mean, Nathan is clearly shocked and angry at the news of my pregnancy that I’ve just told him, but thankfully, he’s nowhere near as angry as I thought he was going to be.I told him I don't need his help taking care of my baby, because my dad is wealthy, but of course, this is a big lie. I wonder what he’s going to think if he knows my family has gone bankrupt. He’ll probably immediately figure out that I’m keeping the baby because of money, which means that I can't let him find out, at least not yet.He remains quiet as I pick up my bag, bid him goodbye, and strut out of his house, feeling very fulfilled. His driver is waiting in his idling car to take me back to the gate, where my car is parked.“Aren’t you going to open the car door for me? Jeez! How rude! Is that how you wait for your boss to open the car door for himself, or is it because he’s not here, you feel like you can do whatever you like?” I ask the man, when he si

DIANE’S POV“I came to see how you’re doing,” I tell him, squashing my inner thoughts."You have no idea how glad I am to hear that. I was starting to think that our relationship couldn’t be repaired, but now I have hope that it can be. Amelia and her children were here a few days back to spend some time with me as well. It's things like this that make a man happy. At this rate, I might probably even recover so well that I would regain feelings in my legs.” He jokes."Well, thank goodness I didn’t bother coming a few days earlier, then. The last thing I need is to be around that sallow-faced bitch and her annoying children.""I don't like the way you talk about Amelia and her kids, Diane. Anyway you look at it, we are the only family you have left. She tried her best to be friends with you, but you shut down every effort she put in. There is no point in deceiving ourselves any longer. I'm not getting better, and I don't think I ever will. When I'm dead, who are you going to have to ca

Amy's POVDamn it! I had no idea that time had gone this much. Well, it is said that time always flies when you’re having fun, and this is clearly true.I’m not happy to leave this party, because it is a really interesting one and I've been dancing nonstop since I got here, as well as drinking a lot.Boy! I've missed drinking so much, but now, I'm back full force ... or maybe not, because I did leave that screaming brat I call a daughter all alone in the house, and it's been about six or more hours since I left. The last thing I need is for her to die on my watch, although come to think of it, that wouldn't be such a bad idea and I definitely wouldn't grieve at all.Yeah, I know. You may think I'm a bitch for thinking this way, but the truth is that I'm seriously beginning to regret my spontaneous decision to get married to Austin and also to carry his baby, because I now realize that I may have been too fast. It's not my fault though, but Austin's, because never in my wildest d

Lucy’s POVMy nerves are shot, and they’ve been this way for two or three days now, but I can't for the life of me pinpoint or say what could be making me feel such an emotion.Life is good, and everything has been going smoothly, both at work and in my personal life, so I have nothing to worry about, but still, I can't get rid of the feeling that something dreadful is going to happen, and soon too. The anxious feeling probably has to do with the ‘reveal party,’ as Nathan, my family, and I have come to call it. The party is going to take place at our residence tomorrow.A fairly large number of guests have been invited, with the majority of them being workers in my dad’s company, and others being his close friends, associates, and business partners.I don't know any of these people, and since I don't have friends apart from Amanda, I have no one to invite to the party, but that's okay because after now, I'll be free to make as many friends as I want.It is probably the thought of st
