Felicity steps away from the two of us quickly, shooting me a sly smirk. Cautiously I loop my arm through Jasper’s, and the two of us, Alpha and Luna of the Moongrove pack, approach the pack arm in arm. As we draw near, the crowd immediately erupts into cheers and playful whistles. “Can you believe our Luna is actually going to join us?” “This is the perfect day for a pack run!” “I can’t wait to see how she keeps up!” I feel a little shy with all the attention, as well as the weight of whatever performance is expected of me. Still, I gather my courage deep in my chest and look out at the gathered crowd. “Thank you all for inviting me!” I exclaim, projecting my voice and beaming. “I look forward to today’s run, and I can’t wait to get started!” The crowd cheers and applauds once more before dissolving back into idle chatter and running preparations.
