~Alayasia~I stand at the stove, scrambling eggs. My eyes are on the clock, knowing that I have a tight window to have all of this ready by. I don’t have the energy to deal with the fallout if I don’t meet my time requirement. My days start the same. I get up early and fix breakfast for my husband. He likes to eat at home before he gets his day started. I then clean up the mess I made while he gets ready for the day. When he leaves, I make breakfast again, this time for myself and Zara. The truth of the matter is that he doesn’t like to be around us and definitely doesn’t like to eat with us. He never wants to see Zara unless it’s pack business, and the Alpha will be around. I can only be around others when I’m working or playing the Beta female part for pack business. I’m always to be seen and not heard, but preferably not seen at all. ~Alayasia~“Did you get hold of the caterer?” I make a mark in my notebook before turning to look at Luna Olivia. We’ve been working together for the past week, trying to get the pack ready for the gathering we'll be hosting. We don’t usually host things like this, but we came up in rotation. It will be the first gathering that I’ve been to. When the gathering is hosted at other locations, I wasn’t allowed to attend. Maxim doesn’t let me off packlands very often, and he hates having me around others even more. He always wants me to be out of sight, and that goes double for our daughter.I’m kind of excited for this gathering, but I’m trying to act like I don’t care. If I express my excitement, Maxim will be sure to find some way to make me stay home. It’s what he always does, but I refuse to let him do it this time. I respond to the Luna’s question before looking at Zara. She’s in a playpen with a few of her toys. She’s enjoying the fresh air, not really allowed out too often. “Well

~Alayasia~It took everything in my power to keep my face neutral and my body from reacting to him and the bond. The moment he got out of the car, his scent wrapped around me. I’ve always loved the smell of pine and rain. Those scents always calmed me and made me feel immense comfort. To have my fated mate smell like that is amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. There’s no way I can claim my fated mate, and it hurts. Clover has taken to whining in my mind as I try to keep myself composed. I can’t show any interest in front of Maxim because he will destroy me and my mate. I’m already dreading what will come when we are alone, and my choice in outfit isn’t even as serious as this is. ~Alayasia~I wanted to watch him walk away. Hell, I wanted to throw myself at his feet and beg him to take me with him. I couldn’t do either of those things, so I kept my eyes on my plate. I was able to stomach a few items from dinner, but it wasn't much to call a meal. I’m going to be hungry later, oh well. A throat clears rather loudly at the table. I shift in my seat so it doesn’t seem like I’m not paying attention. “Beta Ala… uh, Alana… Al…”“Her name is Alayasia.” My head snaps up at my name. It’s the Alpha that came with my mate. My stomach lurches as shock washes over me. It’s rare that anyone actually WANTS to talk to me. I plaster a slight smile on my face and nod my head. “My apologies.” His comment is directed toward Luna Olivia, who was nice enough to tell him my name. “I’m not that great at names.” He chuckles, and I feel at ease. It’s a vast difference from how I feel when Alpha Axel ever tries to talk to me, which is, thankfully, rarely. “What pack are you originally
