Luciano POV Pain shot through my gut like a searing blade, ripping through flesh and ego alike. The stitches burned like hell, each tug of the needle making my jaw clench. I hissed, groaned—fuck, even let out a moan that I hoped wouldn’t haunt me for the rest of my damn life. Olivia, bless her heart, was right there, holding my hand tighter than a lifeline, her fingers trembling but never letting go. I didn’t cry out because of the wound. I cried out because she was crying again. Her sobs were quiet now, restrained, but I could still hear every stifled breath and sniffle. That girl could break steel with those tears, I swear. “Luciano,” she whispered, her voice fragile as glass. “You scared me. Don’t ever do that again.” “Sure, tesoro,” I gritted out as the doctor pulled the final stitch, “next time I’ll just ask the guy politely not to stab me.” She glared at me, eyes red but fire blazing behind them. “You're still a jackass.” I gave her a half-smile. “And you're still mine.”
