Lahat ng Kabanata ng Sweet Revenge of The Rejected Daughter : Kabanata 41 - Kabanata 50

Alice’s POV Klaus kept staring at the toy and smiling. The more I looked at him, the more my chest ached. “So today’s your brithday?” He finally tore his gaze from the toy, his eyes meeting mine. “Yeah.” “Will you celebrate it?” Klaus shrugged. “Alice, it’s not a national holiday. It’s just like every other day.” “No it’s not,” I said. “Why will you even say that? Everyone deserves to feel special on days like this.” Silence. He looked at me, a flicker of emotion flashing in his eyes. What can I gift him? He has money, and any luxurious thing I can think about. Alice, think. This is even harder than I thought. Suddenly, an idea popped in my head. I stood up from the dinning table. “Well, that changes from today.” He lifted his head. “What do you mean?” “Get up.” Klaus raised his brows. “Excuse me?” “You heard me clearly.” “Since when did you start ordering me around?” I sighed. “Please get up, Klaus.” He narrowed his eyes. “That’s too formal.”

Alice’s POV It’s been two days since I last saw Klaus. I didn’t want to see him. So I had locked myself inside my room. Memories of how he had discarded my food without even giving it a try, replayed in my mind like an endless tune. The way he had supported Diana without a second thought, without considering how I’ll feel or about the effort I had put into it. I clenched my fist inside my sleeve. “I’m done trying,” I muttered under my breath. Maybe it was time I stick with the marriage arrangements, after all, falling in love was never part of the deal. A knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts. It was probably Hannah. I’m sure she wants to give me my breakfast. But right now, I wasn’t in the mood. “Hannah, come back later.” But the knock on the door didn’t stop, instead it increased. With gritted teeth, I reluctantly stood up, feeling annoyed. Opening the door, it wasn’t Hannah, instead it was Klaus. The moment I set my eyes on him, my heart skipped. Damn

Alice’s POVI changed my clothes, wearing an ash hoodie with black pants. Then, I packed my hair into a ponytail and slipped on a pair of black glasses. Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I muttered, “this will do.”Taking a deep breath, I quietly opened the door and peeked. Slowly, I shut the door to my room, looking around frantically. Luckily, Diana was nowhere in sight and Klaus had gone to work. I tiptoed towards the front entrance, praying no one would notice me. Before my fingers could touch the door handle, a voice stopped me. “Ma’am?”I shut my eyes before turning around. “Heyy…Hannah,” I said with an awkward smile, scratching the back of my neck.“Are you going somewhere?”“Oh no. I just…want to go for a walk.”Hannah paused, scrutinizing me from head to toe. It was obvious she wasn’t buying it.Why was she the one that always caught me everytime.“Do you need the chauffeur to prepare the car?”“No need. I just want some fresh air.”She remained silent, but her eyes

Alice’s POV“A DNA test?” I repeated, my voice barely audible. Mrs Grey nodded, her brows knitting together at the center. She stared at me with unblinking eyes, desperately waiting for my response. “I…I need time to think this through,” I muttered almost to myself. For a second, a flicker of disappointment crossed her features. If I was her, I would also feel the same. This was the only way to find out the truth. But for some reason, I wasn’t ready. She released a heavy sigh. “it’s fine. Take your time, dear.”Then she handed a business card to me. “Please, take this. When you’re ready, call me.”I nodded. “Thank you.”She tilted her head, her reddened eyes shifting to the ring on my finger. “You’re married?”I immediately withdrew my fingers, hiding them under the desk. “Yeah.”She smiled faintly despite the sadness that lingered in her eyes. With trembling lips, she asked. “Who is your husband?”“Klaus Gambino,” I replied without hesitation. The moment those words left my lips,

Victoria’s POV It’s been three days, three days stuck in this house. All my movements were being closely watched because of my father's orders. Michael hadn’t called me ever since. Not even once. It was as if I no longer existed to him. I clenched my fists till my knuckles turned white. “All this is because of her,” I muttered under my breath. I stood before the mirror and I almost couldn’t recognize myself. My face was pale, my eyes were swollen from crying myself to sleep every night. And my back still stung like crazy. This wasn’t me. This wasn’t the Victoria that always looked perfect. I was like the shadow of my former self. Broken and lonely. A tear couldn’t help but slip down from my eyes. I took another look at the message from that man for the twentieth time today. “Meet me at 888 Grand Avenue at 10pm. Come alone.” My fingers tightened around my phone. I wasn’t supposed to step out of the mansion, not until my scandal had cooled off. But I just couldn’t wait. I nee
