Rose’s POVAs so often before, Knives was in church, but since we’d opened up to each other, he’d stopped locking me inside his apartment, and I was free to roam the clubhouse. Not that I did much roaming around. I was still nervous to be around most of the bikers here, and most of the time just went looking for Grace or Jill whenever she was in. Sara, Asley, and the rest mostly liked the company of the men, which often left me alone in the kitchen with Grace and Cook, who I was growing slowly less afraid of...Without meaning to, I felt my hand go to the tattoo again, and a smile crept across my lips. Who would have known that Knives had a soft side? Well, I’d sort of guessed, seeing that there sometimes was a flash of something “other” in his eyes from time to time. But he only rarely let it out, and when he did, it was only around me, when we were alone.
