Chapter 14Gabriella “What!!” I choked on my food, coughing hard and embarrassingly. My chest burned as my eyes watered. People were starting to look. A waitress began walking toward us, but Bastian waved her off. He was by my side in a flash, hand on my back. “Breathe, Gabriella. Breathe.” I sucked in long breaths, gulping down the water he handed me. Finally, after calming down, I heard him say— “Breathe, baby.” Loud enough for the next table to hear. What?! Baby?
