Sonia’s point of view Elias doesn’t let go of her. His arms are locked around Eva, his face buried in her shoulder like if he loosens his grip for even a heartbeat, she’ll vanish into thin air. She stands stiff, unmoving, her eyes wide and bewildered. “I don’t know you,” she says again, her voice quiet but firm. “Yes, you do,” Elias insists, his tone breaking. “Not here,” he taps his chest, “but here.” He presses his forehead against hers. “You know me here.” My throat tightens.
