Eva’s POV The ancient library is quiet except for the rustling of pages, the soft crackle of torches, and the occasional thump as someone tosses a book aside in frustration. For the last two weeks, this has been our routine—meeting here, hidden away from prying eyes, trying to untangle a mystery that feels more like a knot with every passing day. “I’m telling you,” Parker says, waving his finger like some grand wizard pointing to a dusty passage about magical twins, “what if one of them is secretly a vampire? Or part elf? You know, glowing eyes and tragic destinies and—” “She has hazel eyes, Parker,” Sonia snaps, pinching the bridge of her nose like he’s about to give her a migraine. “Hazel.
